He was never clutch in college either, so I really don't think it was Schiano.
Tell that to FSU fans.
Oh you mean his ONE 4th quarter comeback when he threw two stupid interceptions that were dropped? Yeah. That's clutch.
It's ok to hate for the sake of hating, I'm good with that.
So if Glennon has all the height you would want, all the arm strength you would want, played in a major conference against quality competition, and was "clutch", why did the scouts not care for him and teams waited until the 3rd round to draft him?
Mobility concerns and durability concerns due to his skinny frame. He was also inconsistent at times in his college career. That's why he was a 3rd rounder.

Glennon is no longer being evaluated by what he did in college, he's being evaluated by his rookie season. Which by most accounts was pretty promising. Why did David last until the 3rd round as LB? Why Was future HOF Rhonde Barber a third round pick? How did Rodgers last until the 20's in his draft? To go back and ask why after he produced 19TDs and was rookie of the month for November is an odd approach.
Haters gonna hate , Bass.

You are the one that brought up his college career and FSU....but now, two posts later...we can only talk about what he did in the NFL? You sir, are a class A dumbass. He was a 3rd round pick because our dumbass gap toothed coach had a hard on for him since high school and took him early. If we hadn't taken him then he'd probably been a 5th round pick because he can't handle pressure. He turns into a spaz and make horrible decisions when you need him the most. Doesn't matter if you look at his college tape or his rookie year in the NFL....it's the same thing.

I'd say it's equally odd why a rookie who did so well would be part of the #32 offense, have his coach get fired, and have a new coach immediately bring in a veteran to replace him.

I have no expectation that anyone will change their opinion, but the "clutch" argument is literally the dumbest and most situational thing in sports. You'd think Bucs fans would know this. Josh Freeman was considered clutch at one point and then a few years later, he couldn't win close games. Was he clutch and then not clutch? Of course not. There are many factors, like leaving the field with a lead and then losing a game.In terms of Glennon, specifically, I checked the results of his two years of starting and looked at one score games. Here's what I found:In 2011, NC State lost by one TD to Wake Forest, but was down 27-6 halfway through the third. Glennon threw three TDs and got the ball back with five minutes left. They drove 28 yards and turned it over on downs with 1:46 left. They never got the ball back.At Boston College, they were down 14-3 in the first half, they scored in the third quarter to make it 14-10 and then neither team scored again. In 2012:NC State lost to Miami, 44-37. They were down 10 with 8 minutes left, came back and tied it up with two minutes left in the game. Miami used the rest of the clock and scored with 19 seconds left in the game. So, if Miami doesn't score, is Glennon now clutch even though he did nothing different? The next week, Glennon had the game winner against FSU.The next game, NC State was down 18-17 and Glennon led the team to a game-winning FG with 30 seconds left. The next game against North Carolina, Glennon left the field with the game tied and North Carolina scored with 13 seconds left to win the game.So yeah, those were the one score games from his two years starting at NC State. He had two opportunities in 2011 to be "clutch" with a late game winner. In 2012, in the four one score games, he left the field with the lead or tied in all four and never got the ball again (winning two of them).

Josh Freeman was considered clutch at one point and then a few years later, he couldn't win close games. Was he clutch and then not clutch?
Freeman was absolutely clutch. He was a great young QB that played his best football in the 4th quarter. Turning anorexic, developing a drug & alcohol problem, losing his work ethic, and just becoming a general turd ruined all that....but there is no question he was a clutch QB in college and in his first two years in the NFL.If you don't believe that being clutch is a real, tangible quality.....then I don't know what t tell you bro. Did you just start watching football recently? I ask because the majority of the NFL greats undeniably took their game to an entirely different level in the biggest moments and biggest games. Being clutch isn't a fairy tale. It's a very real trait and out of all the 53 guys on your roster, you need your QB to have that trait more than anyone.

Jdud's motto : When all else fails , lie.

No, I've been watching football my entire life. Being "clutch" may be a genuine thing, but people don't know how to use it or quantify it. You certainly do not as you've proven with your claims that Glennon isn't clutch when it's clear that that is an impossible conclusion to make. If a QB leaves the field with a lead and his team loses, he is no less clutch than when he leaves the field with the lead and then wins. Anorexic Freeman was clutch enough to lead the Bucs to victory over the Redskins in 2012, but the Skins got the ball back and scored the game winner. Was he no longer clutch there or did the defense just let him down? How about when the Eagles beat the Bucs and left no time on the clock? If Gorrer picks that ball off, Freeman is clutch there!Sample size to prove such a thing is almost certainly too small for most guys with a long career. It's definitely too small for a rookie with two years of college starts, never mind the fact that the results of those games don't support a lack of clutchness.
Summary: I'm sure some people are more clutch than others, but I'm positive that most people have no idea what they are talking about when they use the word.
You can't prove who is and isn't clutch, but you can prove that Glennon had a passer rating of 62.2 in the 3rd quarter and 64.8 in the 4th quarter after posting numbers of 92.2 and 111.4 in the 1st and 2nd quarters.

Can you find those numbers for college, too? I tried looking them up but don't really know what to search for.

Jdub, you can look at whatever you want. I was bringing up FSU because YOU brought up how he did nothing in college. Come to the draft party and call me a dumbass to my face.
