Both have the Bucs going with Kalil Mack at #7.Kiper has it going:1: Manziel2: Robinson3: Clowney4: Bridgewater5: Watkins6: Barr7: MackMcShay has it going:1: Clowney2: Robinson3: Bridgewater4: Bortles5: Manziel6: Matthews7: MackOf note...in McShay's mock, Bortles doesn't even go in the first round. If he's there at the top of round 1, I'd trade up for him. Also, in Kiper's, as much as I like Mack...if Matthews is there...you have to take him. A franchise LT is much more important than a Sam LB. I do like Mack...but I'd rather drop a little and get another 3rd or 2nd round pick if we aren't going to pick Bortles or Matthews.
I think it was Kiper's conference call today, Kiper said Matthews' stock was dropping a bit because teams see him as a RT in the NFL.

I read snippets here and there during the season that said the same thing.

That was one of the main reasons he went back to school. They said the same thing last year. If I were to pick a tackle in this draft it would be Taylor Lewan.
Either Kiper edited it in or you just happened to miss it, but he's got Bortles going #8 right now.

Lewan had a lack luster year.
I would bet on McShay's mock if I had to choose who's was most likely

But he still will make a better LT at the NFL level. I don't too much worry about college players who don't have all star years their last year as much as I worry about their makeup. Lewan projects as a better LT because of his size, mean streak and aggression, leadership and natural athletism. He has a high ceiling to become a franchise LT IMO

Yeah woops. I had the wrong name. It was McShay that had Bortles going to the 2nd round. It was Kiper's that had Matthews lasting past the Bucs. I just miss typed. I fixed the main post.
I hope McShay's plays out and then Watkins will be there when we pick.
I still think Mathews is the best LT prospect in the draft. Technically he is leaps and bounds better than any other LT prospect. I watched a bit of Lewan and I don't see how he could possibly go before Mathews. Potential is great but you need more than just potential to pick someone in the top 10. I can't believe that they are projecting Mack to us at no.7.

As of right now, Lewan isn't Matthews' biggest competition. Most seem to think Robinson has already passed Matthews.
Robinson is a a physical beast. Much more talented than Matthews. Matthews is a technician though. Both are worthy of top 10 picks , just different sorts of players. Personally I prefer Robinson.

I need to watch more of Robinson. All i know is that he blew people up in the Championship game and shot up draft boards really quickly. I need to see more to really form an opinion on him. But if I am drafting on potential, the guy I like is Kouandjio. He has great feet and he can hold off a bull rush despite playing with a high pad level. With coaching this guy has a very high ceiling. Lewan is a major project tho.
SI has the Bucs picking Mack as well.
