I still think Mathews is the best LT prospect in the draft. Technically he is leaps and bounds better than any other LT prospect. I watched a bit of Lewan and I don't see how he could possibly go before Mathews. Potential is great but you need more than just potential to pick someone in the top 10. I can't believe that they are projecting Mack to us at no.7.

As of right now, Lewan isn't Matthews' biggest competition. Most seem to think Robinson has already passed Matthews.

I need to watch more of Robinson. All i know is that he blew people up in the Championship game and shot up draft boards really quickly. I need to see more to really form an opinion on him. But if I am drafting on potential,  the guy I like is Kouandjio. He has great feet and he can hold off a bull rush despite playing with a high pad level. With coaching this guy has a very high ceiling. Lewan is a major project tho.

I'm pretty sure almost everyone jumped off Kouandijo's bandwagon.

I can't see the Bucs investing the 7th overall pick on a Strongside LB that is better suited a 3-4 defense. I'd be happier trading back and selecting CJ Mosley. Lovie could then push Mason Foster to the Strongside. That would make a very strong LB Corp.

Yeah he would be a late 1st or 2nd rounder probably. Kouandjio has the skill set required but needs to refine his technique, which is why I like him. Definitely not a finished product. Lewan on the other hand doesn't have NFL LT potential IMO. Lewan could be a really good RT IMO.

The Bucs already have one of those in Foster. It would make more sense to play Mack at SAM and then rush him from RDE in passing packages.

I love Mack as a player, but he wouldn't be my pick.  With that being said, if he is the pick I have COMPLETE faith that Lovie and Leslie have a plan for how to use him.  I'm fairly certain they have a better idea of what fits their scheme better than all of us keyboard GM's.

I'm thinking manziel or bortles will drop to the bucs for one reason or another.Players tend to gain hype and also lose it from now until then, so I'm almost certain one of the top qb's will be available to us.Now, if they want to choose, they need to move up a couple of spots. And I still think that's a possibility as well. And if I'm wrong, we probably get a carr vs glennon competition...yippie!

One thing I'm sure of is the mock draft landscape will look a lot different May than it does today.

Mack would be a liability in coverage as a SAM. I think if you are a 4-3 team you would need to move him to DE. He certainly doesn't have Von Miller cover skills.

Foster is just another guy. And he'll command more than he's worth as a free agent.

That I agree with...but we arent going to draft a guy at #7 to play MLB when he plays a DE role.  If we draft Mack, its to put his hand in the ground.

I like Mack a lot. But my concerns remain that if we play him at Sam backer, that position was only used about 50% of the snaps this year. There just isn't a huge call for a base 4-3 package these days. More slot is being used and that usually leaves him out. I love him on 3rd downs rushing the passer but ideally I'd be more comfortable with a player who would play every down. Maybe we'll move him to DE but I believe he's a bit small to be an every down DE.If he produces sacks, it doesn't really matter how much he's on the field but this is just my ideal thought that a player taken at #7 overall be someone who could be on the field more than half the snaps.

In a nickel package , which you go to in obvious passing downs , Mack would then line up at end. So actually he would never need to come off the field.
