Glazers want Jameis for one more year to prove himself before paying a long term contract.
How can they accurately evaluate Winston in 2019 if they throw a new coach and offensive system at him?
There aren't any coaches out there that I see as a clear upgrade. Maybe Tomlin if he gets the axe?
Bottom line, Winston bought himself another season with his play these past few weeks. That means he bought Koetter another year as well.
All of that said, we need to find a true #1 CB, and 2 or 3 upgrades on the offensive line.
Talent wise, we are not far off.
With an improved OLine, particularly running the football, Koetter (probably with Monken retained) will have this offense where it needs to be in 2019.
I truly believe that Duffner has earned the right to be the DC. With Kwon resigned and healthy, and Beckwith coming back as well, we are set at LB. With Justin Evans, Jordan Whitehead, and Andrew Adams, we are set at safety. I live what we've seen from JPP, Nassib, and Vea, but we could use another piece or two on the DL, especially if we part ways with Gerald, let's assume we do. Finally, at CB, we look good depth wise with Davis, Hargreaves, and Stewart. We just lack the #1 CB few teams have.
Quick Fix?
