And perhaps for Green Bay Packers fans, a bit of ironic satisfaction in Seattle's big game failure, is that many complained about Packers DB Morgan Burnett not running and downing the ball after his interception of Russell Wilson with 5 minutes left in the 4th Quarter. The argument being that he could have gone further up field untouched at least 15 yards (which I agree with) and been closer to the end zone where Green Bay could have at least kicked a FG, that would have ultimately won the game. He didn't, Green Bay didn't score and they ultimately lost the NFC Title. In the Super Bowl, CB Jeremy Lane's first quarter interception of Tom Brady was in the end zone. The ironic argument (which I again agree with 20/20 hindsight) is that he should have stayed and taken the touchback. But he didn't. Lane runs the ball out to the 14 yard line where his arm/wrist is turned into a noodle thanks in part to WR Julian Edelman's tackle. Lane is out of for the rest of the game. Seattle then has to use backup Tharold Simon in his place, who the Patriots pick on for the rest of the game. That includes beating him on Brandon LaFell's TD and the game winner to Edelman, who ate him up all night. In a nutshell, Burnett not running with his interception perhaps cost Green Bay a Super Bowl appearance. Lane running with his interception likely did cost Seattle a Super Bowl Title.
