Jason Licht was hired on Wednesday as the fifth general manager in Buccaneers' franchise history, replacing Mark Dominik who was fired along with Greg Schiano after the 2013 season. Licht spoke with the local media on Thursday during an afternoon press conference and share his thoughts and philosophy. https://www.pewterreport.com/index.php?option=com_k2&Itemid=20&view=item&layout=item&id=9606
He doesn't come right out and say it, but he does say he wants competition with glennon. That's a very good sign imo.

Don't want to use a 1st round pick on a QB this year unless it's a select couple. So with that being said, Garoppolo? Fales? Wish we had that 3rd rounder and somehow Garoppolo dropped then we could end up with Donald, Seferian-Jenkins, Garoppolo, Huff/Jenkins/Landry. Only bad thing is we would have to have to find some gems for the Oline.

That likely means bringing in a vet like Josh McCown. The Bucs need a back-up anyway because the thought of Orlovsky should send chills down your spine. It's not likely any QB worth the top 10 pick will fall to #7. Not with practically every team in front of us wanting a QB and/or willing to trade down.

You heard that very differently than I did. I heard him talk about a really bright future twice and added the competition everywhere comment as an afterthought. I thought he sounded, more than the coaches did, upbeat about Glennon....and QB competition is never a good sign.
All I'm saying dal, is that competition with glennon is a good thing. It's no secret that I would like them to draft manziel, but if they don't, it's still a good thing that they won't just give him the job.
The CORE of McCoy, David, Revis is solid. Need more however.
Competition typically brings out the best, but based on everything I have seen and heard about Glennon, I don't think it will make a lick of difference with him...He appears to be the definition of a 'self starter' and he has shown enough to be given an opportunity to lead this team next year sans QB controversy.
Idk if that is entirely true. We have a potential pber in all three phases of the defense. How many nfl teams can actually say that?I agree that they need more, but by more, I mean solid backups and rotational guys as well as some solid offensive pieces.
Defense will be top 5 with existing personnel + Lovie/Frasier...Sort the Oline out and the offense will be in the top half of the league...that equals playoffs
