Lots of options. This draft is loaded with talent. Is there a QB there to take? Is Glennon or some vet the guy? Have they addressed the DE spot in FA? Do they want a "franchise" LT?It's going to be fun.
Put this in another, less applicable thread...I'd go back to twenty with the cardinals. (Licht's former team) Get their 2nd and 3rd this year and roll with it. They are picking at #20 in each round. That would give us 20, 38, 52, 84, 100 ... etc. Five picks in the first 100 spots. 20 - TE Eric Ebron38 - WR Brandin Cooks52 - OG Xavier Su'a-Filo84 - QB Jimmy Garoppolo100 - DE Kareem Martin....etc.DE and C in Free agency.:)..
Take Khalil Mack and make moves after that.
I think Derek Carr is their guy and they cannot justify taking him at #7 and could lose him if they wait until the 2nd round. / Trading down and picking up picks is the best thing we can do at this point.
Ugh... I have a suspicion they like AJ McCarron... hope it's not Carr. Blah.
moving down could be so many different people and positions. Lewman, Ebron, Donald, Carr, Garopollo, Beckham, Barr, etc.

True.
I just think the trade down makes too much sense. You can see a lot of scenarios where if we aren't infatuated with a QB or think we don't need one that things could fall very badly to us at 7.

I could be wrong but I don't think that would be the case. I think of they want Carr to be their guy they would just take him at 7 and not gamble on losing him by dropping back a few picks. I hope licht doesn't think Carr is the answer

If they have a similar grade (Carr and Jimmy G) then they can roll the dice and trade down.

Less about justifying than value. If they like him and do not think they need to burn 7 go ahead and move back some. Understanding other people's boards is a big part of the draft. There is a limit to how cute you wanna get but getting the player you want + picks is a win.

This ^^^^^
If Derek Carr is "the guy"...we are pretty f**ked
Trading down makes a TON of sense for us.
