There's a massive different between being aggressive when it's statistically over and being aggressive when you can step on the throat during a close game.
There is NOT a massive difference between the criticism though. Its all mostly after-the-fact kind of piling on nonsense.
The season before Mayfield was the target and it was "hes missing receivers running wide open" and "he's sending RBs the wrong way."
If you look back at the game day thread from that game you will see YOU talk about sitting players . . kudos. BUT then the play goes on and the Bucs score and theres no one (of course) posting "oh my god . .Godwin is on the field and going to get hurt" . . etc. And, you guys sort of acknowledge that reality with your two posts yeaerday because you use words like this to describe the event
statistically over
99.9% win probability (per ESPN).
The game is NOT actually over. It is definitely a long shot. Godwin is injured after we score, stop them very quickly and get the ball back. In fact, he's injured on a play where he picks up a big first down.
The point though . . .is typical after the fact . . in other words . .if he's not injured and the Bucs lose almost no one here posts about the risk, as a bad coaching move.
BUT, if Bowles had already sat most starters and we score and get the ball back and he dos NOT bring the starters back on . . you can bet your bottom dollar (or ask DH to lend you one form his betting account lol) . . that there are posts calling him a pussy with a "loser mentality." LMAO.
NO one posts when punting results in a quick return of the ball with better field position. Many post about NOT going for it etc etc etc.
MOST PEOPLE post aligned with their belief so if to you Bowles is a "low IQ head coach" then Godwins injury is "proof," just like "Mayfield is send RBs the wrong way."
I dont think Bowles is a "low IQ head coach" so to me the Godwin injury is not really the best criticism . . because injuries are part of the game
To each . . there own.
The way the vast majority of Bucs media and fans talk about the defense is derangement. The stats and game situations show they were an average defense.
Cool story. Now do the offense.
Great statistically. Poor situationally.
Is "great" better than "average" in football circles?
Bowles is average statistically and awful situationally.
Another self own from JC.
Just not true.
Simply arguing to argue and fan the flames.
Or making a point to which you’re responding?
🤔
Lol. Ok.
Quite the staunch Bowles supporter to think those 2 situations are even remotely comparable.
I dont think that you think I was comparing the two lmao. But, if you thought that then just read my previous post.
I just think that someone who sees Bowles as a "low IQ coach" is very likely to criticize him for Godwin's injury . . just like someone who does not (me, as one exmaple) would see it as a little bit of piling on . . .. the going for it on 4th reference

I've had the defense blaming crowd in checkmate for the past 3 days.
The classic “checkmate” versus “surrender noted” standoff.
I wonder how it might end?

Sure. But because of how bad the offense was in MANY late game situations I can't call them a great offense, despite the gaudy statistics.
@Lions- Three 4th qtr possessions, 1 first down, 27 yards.
@Falcons- Fumble in FG range up 3 with 3:00 left. -14 yards after taking over in FG range inside the 2:00 minute warning.
vs 49ers- 1st and goal at the 8 down 4. Coen inexplicably gives White two carries for zero yards.
@Panthers- Up 1 with 3:23 left, 2nd and 4 at the Panthers 5. Two White carries for -3 yards. Then sacked out of FG range on a run down in overtime.
@Cowboys- Down 2 with 1:40 left. White fumbles (I'm sensing a theme here).
vs Commanders- Up 4 in the 4th qtr, fumble at own 13 yard line. 2nd and 1 at WAS 12 down 3. QB pull wide and a botched snap.
Rachaad White was a big part of the problem.

That quote is a piece of art. Not quite as good as your “choose the all pro WR” hypothetical, but art nonetheless

That’s RB1 to you, bub.
JC, “your” doing a great job arguing that the top 5 scoring offense was the problem, not the 17th ranked scoring defense, don’t water it down with “Licht iced ‘Emmitt Smith’”

Thank you.
While it still needs work, I doubt it will ever reach the “There’s NOT a massive difference between the two” mental gymnastics masterpiece.
That was art at its finest.

you should see my Hard Rock account
Im sure it’s impressive.
Mine only paid for minor golf outings over the past few months.
Kapalua, Pebble, Spyglass, TPC Scottsdale days after the tourneys were played. Well, that and hotel, airfare, etc.
Gonna work hard this season to get on your level.

This may surprise you, but nobody really cares what you call the offense's situational playcalling or what you consider good vs. bad situational playcalling. What can't be debated is that the offense was great (3rd overall & 4th scoring) and the defense was average (18th overall & 16th overall) at best. You're the only one that has trouble differentiating between those facts, so your opinion is fairly meaningless here. It's why you've been faced repeatedly, even a couple of times by a complete football moron and obvious dork/lunatic.
