I wish I could attend something like this. I think this is an amazing opportunity for people to gain valuable insight to the inner workings of pro sports franchises. I hope some of you here can attend this event and give us out of market fans your inside perspective. Tickets can be purchased here, first come first serve basis. ($75 per): http://about.poynter.org/about-us/events/business-professional-sports-evening-owners-lightning-rays-and-buccaneers Starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 29Overview: http://www.floridatrend.com/article/19530/owners-of-tampa-bay-rays-lightning-and-bucs-will-discuss-the-business-of-sports

Jeffrey Vinik, owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League; Stuart Sternberg, principal owner of Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball; and Bryan Glazer, co-chairman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League will speak with the Associated Press Sports Editors (APSE) and members of the general public about business trends and issues in pro sports......“This is a time of great change in both the media business and professional sports, so this is an opportune time for the owners, sports editors and the public to discuss the issues of the day, and the future,” said Poynter President Tim Franklin. “One of the Institute’s main missions is to convene thoughtful discussions that advance the public’s understanding of vital matters. We’re thrilled that these owners and the sports editors have chosen Poynter as the place for that conversation.”

I might just be a business nerd, but if I was in the St. Petersburg area I would 100% be there. It seems like they are going to open up discussion to the attendees. Seems like a good time to get questions answered about the Season Ticket Price hike.  ;)
