First, this is NOT an excuse for this loss. There is no valid excuse. However, I did want to make a comment about how absolutely AWFUL the officiating was in this game. And it seems as though it gets worse all the time in this league.Down after down, Washington players were holding Bucs defenders, had their hands in defender's faces, yanking on facemasks, blatantly fouling our pass rushers, yet where were the flags? None of any consequence against Washington.At this point, the Bucs huge piles of penalties are becoming self-fulfilling problems. They're getting more flags because officials EXPECT to throw more flags when the Bucs are on the field. At least it certainly seems that way.Ugh. It's hard enough to play against your opponent, much less the officials, too.
