Adam Schefter ?@AdamSchefter 8mLovie Smith’s contract contains the clause that gives him final say over all personnel matters on the Buccaneers' final 53-man roster.
That's a lot of pressure. Win or lose - it's on Lovie.
Just saw this as well. Unsure how I feel about it.
Some of his predecessors should have gotten that clause... /sigh
I like it....accountability shouldn't be an issue so long as he gives an ear to his staff.Gil Arcia had the scoop on Twitter since Monday.
is anybody shocked? we all knew this would be the case since Lovie would be hand picking the GM
Maybe change the title to something a little more informative lol.But ya, he'll get all the praise and all the blame
I like this.
I think with a coach who has done well in the past, you just go ahead and give them every opportunity to succeed. In this instance, only the dc, oc, lovie, and gm have any say. To me, that's a good thing.
There are very few coaches I would be OK giving that clause to, but Lovie is one of them. I wonder if Lovie requested that or if it was already in the opening offer.
Lovie Smith : Buccaneer CzarI like it.
Just by hearing that Lovie lets his OC call the game like a coach should I don't think it will be a problem with Lovie working together with his GM, seems to me the guy is on the same page with everyone he gets involved with, don't mind this one bit at all.
Well that is interesting but isnt too surprising since he was picked ahead of a GM. Thats ups the odds of targeting Jenkins like that other thread mentioned. Or maybe Lovie wants Clowney at all costs.
Maybe change the title to something a little more informative lol.
Be happy that I stayed on topic....I almost posted this instead:
