Kieft is a TE only in name... he's really a FB... and a FB has no business running that seam route (from memory that's what it was).
Obvious point echoed by everyone but “controversial” …. depending on your uh … football acumen
whether you think Canales is more like Waldron or Carroll the first half was more like Waldron (heavy pass that could not convert 3rd women or score in loss to Rams) and the second half was closer - IN A GOOD WAY - to Carroll (and Bowles, by the way)
excited to see Canales settle in and hopefully get a chance to continue to expand the offense
maybe even throw a fade to Evans :-)

Ko Kieft is 6'5" and 265 lbs. How many FB's do you know that are that size?
With that said, he's definitely a blocking TE - and has been that since college.
Here's the way the Red Board works.
IF you were on the Red Board all off season raving about the new offense coming with Canales** then your review of the first game is likely to DOWNPLAY three early plays going to Kieft and blame the QB (for not hitting Kieft right in the stone stumps at the end of his arms lol).
IF you were on the Red Board all off season raving about the new offense coming with Canales** then you are likely to claim that the failed deep pass to Evans -- we thought man, they dropped zone -- was what we wanted (lol) and not good defense on their part.
That is the Red Board.
Its why there's very little praise here NOW from the oh so loud "cut Devin White" crowd.
For some reason the more committed people are to their own view of their so-called football acumen the more UNREASONABLE their takes in defense of the same.
White probably does not deserve a big contract from the Bucs, but Sunday was an obvious example of why Bowles loves the guy, why he gets the attention he does. He was a BEAST
**Canales is GOING to bring a much better offense to the Bucs, but the first half was a clown show IN PART because of his play calling and game plan. Both he and the QB adjusted in the second half for a reason.
Ko Kieft may not be a fullback (that was NOT the point, of course lol) but he is NOT a Rob Gronkowski
Canales did not draft up some magical play to get Evan in the EZ. They dropped in zone, MAYFIELD correctly noticed it and. . TD
No matter what your analytics say . . . RUNNING the ball is a KEY component to winning games in the NFL. Its ONE of the adjustments that helped us win after we adjusted from the "JUST SEND KEIFT DEEP" offense at the start
:-)
Umm…excuse me, Bartender?
Yeah, this is what they call “yellow light”.
Proceed with caution.

the Buggsy-esque surrender
“leg humpers”
”casuals”
all same rhetorical purpose
Holy fuck he is 6'5!!! Wow... he plays so small.
I would have guess 6'2 at best

Had ZERO idea he was that big. Lol.
