I'm excited about the prospects of a new coach, especially Lovie Smith with Jeff Tedford as OC. I believe it will be hard for the Bucs to upgrade at GM though. Yes, Dominick made his share of mistakes, but he was a very young GM for us and he also showed the ability to learn from those mistakes. I don't know how much Schiano had to do with the last 2 drafts, but one player I believe I see Dominicks fingerprints on is Akeem Spence who looks like a steal in the 4th. I believe Dominick saw some similarities to Geno Atkins (I'm sure he did a lot of reflection on the 2010 draft). Even beyond that, Dominick's greatest skill was predicting the draft. I think he deserves a lot of credit for snagging Doug Martin where he did, and getting Lavonte David, who is probably the crown jewel of his picks, late in the 2nd.
Would have been fired years ago if it wasn't for the Redskins offering Haynesworth more money.
I wouldn't say spence was a steal for a 4th rounder. Just a solid pick for a 4th rounder. It's about where an average starting NT should go

Actually this just highlights another strength of Dominick's. No signing bonuses. Haynesworth would have been cut with no hit after year 2. (As Goldson may end up)

I agree. Dominik has managed the Salary cap well after taking over a mess from Bruce Allen. He's brought in quality talent via FA and the Draft. Yes, he's had misses. But the plus's far outweigh the misses. The Glazers obviously have some kind of plan and wanted a new GM and HC to go with that plan.
Hillarious some people on here still think Dummynik is a good GM , lol.

We already proved you wrong two weeks ago when you said this crap. They went into the 2009 off-season with $61M in cap space.

He is.But some people are just too fucking stupid to see it.
Dominik's time was up. OL is in shambles after 5 years of Dom's "we don't draft OLmen" strategy. DL generates no pass rush and has seen little return from 4 very high picks selected for this unit.FA failures galore. Not to mention the failure that was Josh Freeman.

The Glazer's seem set on doing their own coaching search, and as much the Glazer's are bashed I think they do have a good feel for finding the right coach at the right time for there team (or hanging to Sir Alex as long they can (just saw he retired yesterday, will be interesting what they do in that coaching search too)). I think Dominick's greatest weakness may have been the "Rockstar GM Persona" that he started to be tagged with in the big deals. Revis will be his legacy, and we don't know what Revis is for us yet. I'm not going to bet against him with good coaching though. It won't happen, but if the Bucs are going to hire Webster and Ruskin, I'd love to see Dominick come back and work with them in a team rather than go and work for Bruce in the 3rd Black Hole that is Snyder's Washington Redskins (Dallas, and Oakland being the 1st and 2nd black holes).

So the highlight of Dominik is we can get rid of the players he pays $8-$16M a year to. Tell me, what are his other strengths, spending 2nd round picks on defensive linemen with already career threatening injuries?

I guess I'm too **censored** because all I see is trading a #2 and #4 for Winslow. #2 and #5 for Benn. Two #4s for Stocker. Derrick Ward, Quincy Black, Clayton, Ryan Sims contracts. Offering Haynesworth $100M with $30M guaranteed. #2 for Price, #2 for Bowers. Giving Nicks a $12M bonus after his surgery.

How many D-LIneman was McKay allowed to miss on with Dungy in the early years?Nicks would make a big difference for the OL. Penn got exposed this year, but has been a semi-steal until now. Have we been in position to draft a LT?FA Failures? Which ones? Not sure on Nicks health, but if he can play best OG in football. Are we still talking about resigning Clayton, Black, and Joseph at a time when we were completely devoid of talent? Josh Freeman is a failure, but so is Sam Bradford, and Matthew Stafford. Let's not even bring up Sanchez.
