With the same propensity for charging in as the play goes over him. I agree Dal. Pending the coach, we could see an attempt at an upgrade but I'm not sure it's the first order of business.

I feel like I get a biased opinion in players cause I've met several of them, and there all good guys which makes them tough to dislike on the field
Foster is weak in coverage, but he has time to learn, and he is a thumper with some swagger. He is good for the team.
Foster should have been playing SAM the whole time. He's serviceable as a MIKE, but not great. I think he could be great at SAM, and it's not like we have one talented enough to warrant not moving him there.
He is not a true MLB. And to me just like his 1st 2 seasons he started out great and then ddisappeared for the rest of the season. I wouldn't mind upgrading the MLB position in this new defense and moving him to Sam. If Lovie is coming here and is going to run the Tampa 2 Mason won't fit in the middle.
If Lovie is hired and he does install a cover 2 defense then I dont think Foster will be a good fit at MLB. However with our lack of pass rush from our front four and with Revis in year two of recovery, a cover 2 scheme doesnt make much sense next year
Would be nice to upgrade with a 3 down MIKE and kick Foster outside. Pretty sure our SAMS are FAs anyway.
Mason to SAM sounds great IF we get someone to play MIKE, IF. Mason won't survive a Tampa 2 scheme I'm thinking. Fan of the player and person, but that's going to be rough for him.
