We paid Winston 2.0 the third highest contract for QB's in the NFL. Your franchise deserves to lose when you make such an obviously foolish decision. Beating up on a crappy division for a few years doesn't make someone a good QB, just as winning that same crappy division doesn't make you a good team. We have terrible ownership, coaching staff, and front office. We're getting exactly what we deserve.
I do not know if I would call Mayfield Winston 2.0 because Winston was more of a gunslinger. Mayfield simply does better in an offense with better structure and where he isn't asked to do so much. I feel Robinson just isn't that type of OC to get the best out of Mayfield's true potential. But Robinson's offense is sufficient enough where Mayfield's doesn't have to be the star but the rest of the offense looks like crud. And Robinson's play calling has to play better.
All in all the offense looks completely disjointed from QB to OC to OL to the rest of the skill positions with some players shining here and there.
@alldaway They're a mirror image of each other in at least one important metric, they both have very inconsistent/poor down field accuracy. They can both play well, but they can also kill your team with poor decision making. I said it repeatedly with Winston, his poor accuracy beyond 10+ yards killed far too many drives for any team to be able to succeed with him as their starter. It doesn't even have to result in an interception, just simply missing open receivers on 3rd downs is hugely detrimental. Bakers last throw was to a wide open receiver, he just missed him. Again.

Winston consistently was a very accurate between 10 and 20 yards which kept teams back from crowding the line so I do not agree with that. Winston beyond 20 yards struggled. Mayfield right now is struggling not only 20+ yards but also 10 and 20 yard range.
So Winston was a prolific intermediate thrower in the 10 and 20 yard range which is why the team average so many first downs on his watch. Mayfield isn't a a chunk thrower like Winston because he relies more on short passes and play action aka Jeff Garcia.
Winston is more of Trent Dilfer type in comparison.

Yes baker is at his best at short and mir range passing game but right now the Bucs game plan is to not really focus on WRs which is odd given that is the strength of this team. You could cite a lack of separation but you need to run some decoy go routes with Tez or McMillan to open up the underneath routes for Gainwell, Godwin, Bucky and Egbuka.

That is what they hyped all off season but right now Godwin looks like he has become a forgotten man under Robinson's watch.

Yeah it is bad and it shows. Can't really plug in any other player from the bench because Licht didn't do enough to upgrade the interior OL depth.
