Stefanski handled this issue with class today.
About 4 years too late. We're sticking up for Stefanski now?
I’m acknowledging reality. He could have got in the mud with Mayfield, but he didn’t.
Lol cmon. It only matters WHEN IT HAPPENS.
If I fuck your sister and call her a skank then 4 years later take the high road, what would you say to that?
I’m pretty sure both things can be true. Stefanski could have handled the situation poorly then, but very well now. This isn’t a difficult riddle.

its almost like humans develop, are not static . . . . weird
Handling it with class would have been an admission of guilt in his part on shipping Baker out and bringing in Watson.
He gave a vanilla PC answer. Are we supposed to be impressed?
thought Stefanski handled it well
Baker needs to focus on improving his play before he tries to rub in that getting rid of him was a bad choice
sure, they didnt upgrade, but Baker got his OC fired and should have gotten his HC fired this year; so that doesn't typically happen when the QB is playing lights out.
He was painful to watch Rams game on. The Bucs offense averaged 18 points a game in that 2-5 stretch. Defense was ass but unless you had the 02 Bucs D, you aint winning many games putting up 18 points.
Call it what it is....Baker was one of the main reasons we looked like one of the worst teams in the league the back half of the year; He should STFU and watch film or get better because talking shit when you are mid at best isn't what is needed
what's bizarre is that he was a top 10 guy last year and didnt hear any shit talking; he then regresses and starts making commercials and talking shit. i dont get it.

If you think trading three first-round picks for and then guaranteeing Deshaun Watson's full $230M contract was on Kevin Stefanski and not their dolt of an owner, as has been widely reported, I'm not sure what to say. Baker requested his trade after that.
I guess Stefanski could have thrown that dolt of an owner under the bus, but that wouldn't have been very classy or professional either.

Impressed that he took the high road instead of getting in the mud? Sure, I would think most rational folks would be. I guess you could think he's a dick for not getting in the mud, but that would be kind of odd.
He handled it like a professional.

"Stefanski was asked about Mayfield's comments at his introductory news conference Tuesday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium."
Mayfield was a social media post
sure, they didnt upgrade, but Baker got his OC fired and should have gotten his HC fired this year;
Lol.
Stop.
Baker got his OC fired and should have gotten his HC fired this year
so Tom Brady got Leftwich fired in 2022 and should've gotten Bowles fired even though "Bowles killed Tom Brady"
Mayfield certainly played a role in the poor performance of the team in 2025, but here's an interesting look form JBF at where he stands relative to some other QBs:
"Mayfield had four fourth-quarter picks. So too did Bo Nix. And if he didn’t bust up his ankle in the divisional round, he’d likely be starting in a Super Bowl a week from Sunday.
Know who else had four fourth-quarter picks this year? Sam Darnold. And he is starting in the Super Bowl a week from Sunday.
Bet Bucs fans couldn’t sign a trade agreement fast enough if the Bucs could get Dak Prescott or Pat Mahomes straight up for Mayfield, right? Well, those two guys each had five fourth-quarter picks this past season.
And Joe had a Mayfield stat from a few years ago come across his Twitter feed, where the gist was Mayfield was horrible throwing picks in the fourth quarter in his career. Yes, Mayfield is not great at protecting the ball in the fourth quarter. He’s hardly alone.
Since the start of the 2020 season in the fourth quarter, Mayfield has 19 picks, fourth overall. Again, not something to brag about. Guess who leads the league this decade in picks? Joe Burrow. Guess who is third? Mahomes."
4th quarter picks may be more tied to the score overall? JBF didn't take the next step of lead versus trailing.

Thats very interesting stuff. Kind of validates what we already know. The offense needed to be near perfect to have a chance. Defense/special teams were the biggest issues this past year.

Well, Special teams definitely a liability and a BIG one at that. I forget which game we started kicking into the end zone? Maybe after the Bills game? But yes, undeniably true that Special Teams was a huge liability.
so if we rewind the season though to when it was all on the line, and this is going backwards but
WK 18 - we win the last game against the Panthers
WK 17 Dolphins loss. - we hold the Dolphins to 20 points and only 3 in the 4th quarter. Mayfield has 2 INTS and 3 sacks and in the 4th quater qe punt, have an interception and a fumble
SO DOLPHINS LOSS MORE ON OFFENSE
WK 16 - Panthers loss - one of the 4th quarter interceptions, so PANTHERS LOSS MORE ON OFFENSE? Run defense was great, pass defense not so much, but the offense had the ball to tie or win and through a pick.
WK 15 - Falcons loss - 100% ON THE DEFENSE, even though there was an INT and the offense was forced to punt. Still 3 and 20 or whatever it was.
WK 14 - Saints loss = probably on Bowles as the HC because the game plan, but that was a loss on the OFFENSE Mayfield played poorly too, and i think the offesne had 3 4th quater possessions and only got a filed goal
Bowles is the HC so its all on him and it was the defense that totally broke down. Only pointing out that the offense also played a big part in the end of season collapse.

SO DOLPHINS LOSS MORE ON OFFENSE
Nah... Offense scored early, defense gave up a big TD. Then defense shits the bed repeatedly until Dolphins get a lead and play clock control. That was driven by game script.
Also the defense was going against a 7th round rookie QB, a snap count Achane, and Waddle got hurt.
Offense also shit the bed but it didn't "lose the game".
Last 7 games of the season
Bryce Young - 3 wins, 4 losses
13 total TDs (1 rushing, 12 passing), 4 INTs
Baker Mayfield - 2 wins, 5 losses
9 Total TDs (0 rushing 9 passing), 7 INTs
Defense was diddly poo but Baker performance was one of the main reasons for the collapse. Sure Falcons game was atrocious and some games all around were dead (LAR) but fact of matter is, you aint winning many games with an average defense at 18 points per game or basically having a 1 to 1 TD/INT ratio

Yes that was the point I was getting at.
Hypothetically a better offense = playoffs 2025. Just use 2024 as the proof or the way those last games played out.
So, there are two obvious reasons to think the offense should be better, health and a new OC.
The defense should have better take talent so it's at least possible th defense improves, maybe only modestly.
That is potentially a playoff formula so that is the path that always existed for a Bowles return.
I think it's a bit of fools gold though because the entire concept is sugar candy fragile because several players quit the defensive system in 2025.
Bucs would have to start strong to even have a chance.
