OK, misleading title. This actually has nothing to do with YOU. But I would like your opinions. Yes you. Put down that beer, zip up your pants, and think this over please. So during the first three quarters McCown was *constantly* ignoring or apparently not seeing many VERY open checkdown receivers. Several times I thought I saw him literally scan the field, look at a target 5-10 yards down field, and purposefully move on. What was also strange is that during this, he rarely seemed to even target receivers further down field. Often it felt like he settled on a well-covered target super close to the line of scrimmage or, frankly, just threw it to some random place on the field within 15 yards. It was perplexing, and obviously ineffective.I got busy during the second half, and I don't have access to rewind tape type things, but it didn't seem like his behavior changed *dramatically* during the 4th quarter. I mean, he didn't just flip a switch and start hitting WRs in stride 40 yards down field. Was this a matter of changing up the play calling? The hurry up limiting his "options" thus making him more effective? Or did he actually start making reads that much better?Curious on opinions here because, honestly, one of Glennon's strengths is his checkdown savvy. I'm wondering if McCown is known for not being "efficient", if this was just an aberration, and minus the "veteran leadership" and "mobility" why would we prefer him to Glennon in Tedford's offense?Lastly, yeah. I know McCown is a mediocre lifetime backup. I know Glennon is an easily frazzled giraffe with his head in the Baobab trees. So, no real need to revist that. ;)
