Buccaneers' McCoy: Cam Newton's size and speed shouldn't be legalBy Jared Dubin |  CBS SportsOctober 1, 2015 7:01 pm ET  Cam_Zpsuwgme9Kd.jpgCam Newton is tall, strong and very fast. (USATSI)Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton stands 6-foot-5. He weighs 245 pounds. The man is built as though he were chiseled by Michelangelo. That 6-foot-5, 245-pound quarterback also happens to run the 40-yard dash in 4.58 seconds, one of the fastest times for a quarterback in the last decade. If you ask Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Gerald McCoy, that kind of size-speed combination is just unfair.Cam1_Zpsd2Iufmps.pngThe skill set Newton's been blessed with has helped him become one of the most productive young quarterbacks in quite some time. This is Cam's fifth NFL season. His passer rating through his first four years ranks as the 18th-best among 101 quarterbacks that have thrown at least 1,000 passes over the course of their first four NFL seasons.During those four years, Cam also threw 82 touchdown passes and ran for 33 more scores. Those figures make him one of just 20 quarterbacks in history to throw at least 80 touchdowns through their first four seasons as well as history's most prolific rush-touchdown quarterback through four years.Through three games in 2015, he's added another five touchdowns in the air and two on the ground. He's got the Panthers sitting tied atop the NFC South at 3-0, and he's well on his way to another extremely productive season.
