This dude is all over the place. Within the last week or so,  it was the money does not matter. Then it was, he was 100% sure he wanted to stay a Seahawk, 100%.  Now its, if the price is right I will come back.  SMH

His agent probably had a few choice words with him after he said he just wanted stay in Seattle.

Bring him in. As long as 'the right price' isn't too much.

I always laugh at your GIF of Revis intercepting that pass. Such a stupid play on 4th down. We would have had the ball around their 10 yard line.

Huh? It was the end of the game and Wallace was right there to put them in FG range with over a minute left.

His argument is that as Revis was leaping backward at a dead sprint he should have spiked the ball straight down into the ground.  Never mind he never got his hands high enough above the ball to ensure that move.  Instead of securing the football with two hands and guaranteeing victory.  Because had he executed a straight down spike we could have taken a knee in their territory instead of our own.  Never mind the much more likely result of trying to spike the football down from his body position would have been a deflection that kept the possibility of a completed pass in play.  Or that after securing the football but before contacting the ground he should have forced the ball toward the ground and out of his possession for the same result.  An added bonus of performing this more unnatural action at full speed in the air is that Darelle Revis would also have one less interception on the sanitized stat sheet so posters such as himself would have an even more "valid" reason to claim he is grossly overpaid and should be cut or traded.  It's a dumb **CENSORED** argument, you were better off not understanding.  Sorry.

It's still a non-argument. It was the end of the game. Even if he did bat it down and the ball became incomplete, the result would have been the same. So, I still don't know why anyone would 'laugh every time' they saw my GIF. Dude is probably mad because he didn't cover the spread or something.

Ask a Georgia fan how important batting the ball down is.

Ok. Now you are bringing up an entirely different game and an entirely different scenario. The game was over once Revis picked it. Period. Still don't understand why anyone is arguing with me on this. Did you fail to cover the spread as well?

What if he didn't catch it? What if he tipped it just enough to where the Fin player caught it?Revis is a damn good player. Happy to have him. He's not infallible though.

It's funny you say that, it was the first thing that popped into my head.

That's the thing. He DID catch it. I mean, what is that supposed to make you peoples' arguments valid? What if he, by attempting to bat the pass away, would have tipped it into the hands of another player and lost the game for us. You can play the if game all night and day. What if Josh Freeman wasn't a lazy drug addict. What if Aqib Talib wasn't a dumbass? What if Schiano was a good coach? What if Mark Dominik knew how to do his job? If, if, if......

I'm all about looking out for #1 but I imagine this will turn some teams off.  http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/02/12/michael-bennett-on-hometown-discounts-this-is-not-costco-this-is-real-life/   Michael Bennett on hometown discounts: This is not Costco, this is real lifePosted by Josh Alper on February 12, 2014, 7:04 AM ESTf90a92bb49e7368925d9736959ffd9efGetty ImagesSince winning the Super Bowl, Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett’s attention has turned toward his impending free agency.Bennett has said that he would like to return to the Seahawks, who he joined on a one-year, $5 million deal last offseason. He’s also made it clear that such a contract won’t cut it this time around as he tries and that he wants “to be compensated with the top guys.” It’s little surprise, then, that Bennett is also passing on the notion of giving Seattle a hometown discount.“There is no such thing as discount. This is not Costco, this is not Walmart — this is real life,” Bennett said on NFL Network, via the Seattle Times. “There is no discount really because you go out there and you don’t give a discount on effort; you go out there and you give the best effort every day and you fight for your teammates, and you want to be compensated for the way that you perform and the kind of teammate you are.”After a year playing out a restricted free agent tender in Tampa and settling for a one-year deal last year, it’s understandable that Bennett is prioritizing his desire to get paid over his desire to remain in Seattle. The market will have its say, but that approach certainly makes a new home a likelier outcome.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. There is no such thing as a hometown discount in football. Atleast I have never actually seen it. It's some fable made up by the media.

I completely agree, the closest thing may be a restructure.  I'm just not sure the guy needs to be "compensated with the top guys".

Revis has a monster contract, GMAC will get one soon and so won't LaVonte so I don't see Bennett getting the pay day he'll want.

Tampa gave him the chance to play when everyone else thought he was practice squad material. Don't see how he could ever forgive us for that.

Bennett know that his stock will never be as high as it is right now.  18 month ago, ..how many people outside of Tampa even knew he existed?  I have no problem bringing him back to Tampa, he has shown he can rush the passer

Listen to this audio and hear it directly from his mouth.....sounds like some of us had it right....he was never offered a contract by the Bucs: http://tampa.cbslocal.com/2014/02/10/audio-michael-bennett-says-the-bucs-never-offered-him-a-contract-to-stay/

But he was supposed to give Tampa the chance to match!
