Then Licht couldn't help himself and created a disaster of a contract.ย
Lol. The venom
The Glazers really have nothing to do with it regarding the total amount of money spent.ย The Bucs will max out their salary cap regardless.ย If you think about it, what the agent is doing is asking the Glazers to put ticket sales above winning by intervening and telling Licht to allocate more salary cap space to a player because they are an upstanding person and a figure in the community.ย If Licht resigns Evans, it's because he's going to help the team win games, not because of his popularity, standing in the community or ability to generate ticket sales.ย What generates ticket sales is winning games.ย ย Well except if your team has Lionel Messi apparently.ย Then you go just to see him.ย But this is the NFL.ย Star power only works if you are winning.ย ยBucs can resign all their own players if they want the next two off seasons. And frankly there are not any UFAs out there the next two off seasons worth pursuing so the Bucs are better off resigning their own and focusing on the draft. If the Bucs think they are far from a super bowl team the Glazers will NOT open the wallet for UFAs and will instead be okay with resigning the homegrown players if it makes sense for team building.ย

good, yeah trade him for a second round pick for the likes of Roberto aguayo or Kyle trask or dexter jackson
ย
no thank you. Rooting for Mike to get 1,000 yards is about all we will have to root for this year, donโt take that away from usย

Morgan is the one person that can unite this county. I'm certain of it...
You could see me and Biggs band together in a grass routes campaign to laugh you off this board.
That's how despised you are...
If you trade himย that would be to a team that has a contract ready for him to sign.ย If you don't trade him he becomes a free agent.ย You get to see how his body is holding up this year, or whether he's starting to decline.ย Then you can let him explore the waters and come back and see if you can come up with something similar.ย If you can be in the ballpark then he'll come back here.ย That's what's going to happen IMO.ย Ultimately, he may not have the market value his agent is looking for because of his age.ย ยBucs have no interest in trading Evans despite strong value

Evans may feel that he has been disrespected by Buc's management and would rather play somewhere else next season.

That is fine because the last thing you want is to sign a player that is disgruntled and they stay that way. And then you eat a cap hit when you have trade that disgrunteled player, and the money could have gone towards a player that wants to be with the Bucs but ended up leaving.ย
If M. Evans wants to play elsewhere next season that is a courtesy the Bucs should allow him to explore as he has given this franchise everything. If M. Evans wants to stay a Buc beyond 2024 that is fine as well.ย

๐จ๐ฝ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ: The #Bucs have no plans to sign WR Mike Evans to an extension at this time, per @DMRussini
The deadline Evans gave them will pass tomorrow, if they don't reach a deal, it appears this is his last season with the team.
The king of 1,000 yards might be out from Tampa in 2024. Will his streak at least continue with Baker Mayfield
if Tampa starts 1-4 2-5 and get out of contention early I think they attempt to trade him.
mostlikely they will be within striking distance of the division late into the year & will keep him due to this
and unfortunately he likely will sign with a contender next year.
thrilled he spent 9 soon to be 10 great years in Tampa. HOF & future Bucs ROH member no doubt.
Anyone claiming to have clairvoyance on this topic is talking out of their ass. Just let the season play out, if Mike tears it up the Buccaneers would likely extend a contract to keep him.. and also have the franchise tag available as a last resort. yโall seriously need to chill on this and just let the season play out.ย

Bucs are already capped out for next year and Mike Evans tag would be $28.44M. But yea we're the ones talking out of our ass.ย
On another note, Bucs just converted Barrett's base salary to a signing bonus. His cap number for next year is now $26.3M with with $26.7M of dead cap.ย

Better to leave a high-priced salaried player a year early, than 3 yrs late.ย You're asking for another decade of bad Buc ball if you think that it's wise to keep him for another 4 seasons.

Again, the guy who said we'd be the biggest jokes in the league if we signed up a "washed up" Tom Brady.ย
Mike evans needs to go back to what he did with Monken and look the ball in whne he catches, too many dropsies
