#13 misses second half, Bucs kicked ass with new blood.
#13 misses second half, Bucs kicked ass with new blood.
to be clear, our defense kicked ass
let's see second half offense
3 plays, -5 yard rive drive
5 plays, 16yard drive
6 plays, 42 yards, Field goal
10 plays, 75 yards, touchdown - (would define as kicked ass) included 54 yards to Godwin who i would hardly define as new blood.
4 plays, 9 yards, field goal - thank you defense
4 plays, 1 yard, kneel downs
so yeah no reason to be negative with a 26-9 win but any narrative that the Bucs would be fine without Evans; yeah this isn't your sample size...Carr was putrid thanks to our defense.
I’m a huge fan of Mike. That said, I have 2 gripes about him that I see every year he’s played:
he has more 0.0 YAC than any other receiver I see in the league. 9 times out of 10 when he makes a catch he’s falling to the ground or immediately tackled.
he has a hamstring injury every single year.

Sometimes - just sometimes - I wish I could be this ignorant.
he has a hamstring injury every single year.
Thirty-somethings tend to get more and more of them. The best ability is availability. Giving him a $75-80 mil contract is a bad move, but what bad franchises do.

Mike is playing at a high level. What most on this board are saying is a 3 year deal.
if he sucks for the last of the three years, little to harm to the team
look what Mike evans did for Jamies Winston. Dude was trash but Mike actually mad him look competent
look how Baker is performing this year when some thought he would be benched by the bye week. Is some of that having Mike evans on board? Yes!
whether it be baker or a rookie next year, having evans on the team will only help their progression
@badabingbucs and his injury.
but a wins a win especially by 3 scores.
any division win(especially on the road) feels great.
Regarding Evans hamstring issues:
Evan has played at least 15 games in every season of his career except one, where he played 13 games. Not sure how many WR’s that have been in the league as long can say that. He’s been pretty durable.

For reference, Devante Adams came into the league the same year as Evans. He's played 15+ games in only five out of nine seasons. Godwin has been in the league for 6 seasons. He's played 15+ games in only three of those six seasons.
Evans is pretty dang durable. It's one of the reasons he's been able to break NFL records to begin his career.
it's amazing we live in a world where there are Bucs Fans that do not want the Bucs to resign Mike Evans.
i guess that is what makes the world go round.
Evans is not an unusual injury risk but if he’s been on the injury report it’s often been for hamstring injury, as you might expect. And that should be more likely going forward with age, body type and role.
that’s not a reason to let him walk though, it’s a reason to price his contract. But, that is properly beaten out by the value to the team brand in keeping him. He’s loved by fans. And for very good reason.
One example:
”Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting closer to being without one of their Pro Bowl wide receivers for Sunday’s season-opening showdown on the road against the New Orleans Saints.
Mike Evans missed practice yet again Thursday with a hamstring injury, putting his availability for Sunday’s game in serious doubt.
Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said Wednesday that if Evans were not able to practice by Friday, he could end up being a game-time decision Sunday. Evans’ 2019 season was cut short by a hamstring injury, but considering he practiced all throughout training camp, this could be something new.”
Thing is with evans and his hamstring is when a qb likes to go to him so its his workload that puts his hammy in trouble, Baker and Mike ahve really good chemistry so far and is utilizing him, if he's willing to resign for 15-20m a year we should take the deal as his contract would be similar to keenan allen, and david can have a similar contract to wagner which would be the same in cap hit if we resign both.
Hard to imagine the cap strapped Bucs pay TWO receivers $20 plus million. Evans is 3-4 years older than Godwin?
