haha crazytown
I see the resident LPN is up to his usual shitty troll job.
Lol, shitty is right.
Can you imagine this offense without Evans? Good lord it might be historically bad.
As much as I love Godwin, he's not even close to Evans. He's a solid wr2 with upside but he's not much of a deep threat anymore and hasn't produced many tds the last 3-4 seasons
Evans is one of a kind but the two are linked. We saw last season what happens when there’s little to bring the safeties up.

Yep.
And, this year, we’ve seen what good play calling and schemes can do to that (and what it can do get the opposition to move away from it).
Now, if only Baker could execute better.

Agreed
One play where Baker did execute is the 40yd TD pass to Evans. I would love to know if this was intentional or coincidence, but I think on that play we get Evans all alone with the DB who had just had TWO defensive holding penalties. And I think man to man.
For the Evans fans (count me in that group) the thing that makes him impossible is the way his speed increases as he get going. He pulls away from the DB with ease
I have no idea where the safety was on that side, but that TD was a walk in the park

Well done.
The last red zone possession vs Atlanta was terrible scheme. Every target was in the end zone on two of the plays. Asking Baker to thread the needle like Mahomes on those routes when he clearly isn't skilled enough for it...
Should have ran on 1st down and run some clock (the irony since he won't go away from it most of the time)
If we can draft Penix to pair with Canales I'll be much more hopeful.

This has been addressed and debunked:
The goal there is to score a TD, and the odds of that happening running the ball are pretty small. Hopefully, that TD is scored while also taking time off of the clock - but that can also be achieved by throwing the ball.
1st-and-Goal from the 8: Trey Palmer is WIDE open for a 5 yard gain to the right, but Mayfield instead chooses to throw to Godwin with the defender right on his back and it was almost picked. Bad decision by the QB. Incompletion with the clock stopping, instead of a 5 yard gain with the clock running.
2nd-and-Goal from the 8: Trey Palmer is again WIDE open for a 5 yard gain to the right, Rachaad White is WIDE open in the flat, and Evans is NFL open for a TD, but Mayfield instead chooses to throw to Godwin with the defender right on his back yet again. This was a bad decision and poor throw from the QB. Incompletion with the clock stopping, instead of at least 5 yard gain with the clock running.
3rd-and-Goal from the 8: I'm not a huge fan of this design. But if the ball comes out on time, Mayfield has either Godwin along the back of the EZ or White in the back right corner pylon. That would have taken high-level QB'ing with precision passing, which is something Mayfield hasn't show a lot of so far. Canales and Mayfield can split blame for this rep, IMO. But hey, Atlanta did use a TO after Mayfield was sacked. So there's that.
In summation, running the ball three times there is flat-out giving up downs and playing for a tie. I don't want that chickenshit attitude from any HC or OC.

Exactly.
Queipo from PR did a fantastic film breakdown.
Good play calls, good scheme, piss-poor execution (which has been Baker in a nutshell the last 2 games).
Agree on the execution and i dont agree with the running the clock part, but this comment is Leftwich/Brady last year and one of the failing in this specific game
The goal there is to score a TD, and the odds of that happening running the ball are pretty small.
The two things (run/pass) are not an "either/or" proposition to begin with (with Leftwich run was neither/nor lol) they complement each other to keep a defense off balance AND in close to the EZ passing dips below running (if a team can run, we cannot lol).
Case and point: one of the RZ series begins 1st and goal at the 6. We pass first play and Mayfield is sacked and actually fumbles. Its the absence of the negative aspect of a passing that analytic people often leave out with things like Expected points . . but for the analytical side:
"This chart shows all red zone plays from last season. The yellow line on the left represents the end zone, and the yards away from the end zone are displayed on the bottom. What it shows is that passing the ball (red line and red dots) is slightly better in terms of expected points added per play - the analytics’ gold standard metric - compared to run plays (blue line and blue dots) up until approximately the six-yard line."
The second RZ I think we start at the 8 and go pass pass pass, time a consideration though
On one of the RZ series, Mayfield comes to the line to adjust to what he maybe believes to be a blitz, the Falcons drop almost everyone lol
Anyway the point is that its a series, not 3 downs to try to throw a TD. That was the Bucs of 2022. I think we are bottom 3rd in Red zone (TDs) and we had the GOAT
I’m really looking forward to Mike continuing his great career here in Tampa and extending his streak of 1,000-yard seasons here with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,” Licht said.
From a strictly business perspective a no brainer to get a deal done
Which activity player jersey is mostly worn at the games?
exactly!
this franchise outside Brady years and brooks/sapp era is mediocre at best. This year is no different
in todays NFL need a all pro QB to really make a difference. Niners are the only team that bucks that trend - buffalo, chiefs, jaguars, dolphins, bengals, ravens, chargers, eagles
So when Bucs draft a QB next year, wouldn’t it be great to also have savy huge numbers target in evans even factoring in Father Time dinginh him a bit
he will test market but hopefully they see $20m as fair price
jets wanted him at the deadline so that’s what concerns me if teams with potentially better QBs get him.
As I was saying, as we sit here in November, the only thing left to root for is the evans 1,000 yard streak
“but we’re only 2 games back”
lmao.
