The Bucs need to send to the Front Office a cut-up of every Press Coverage against Mike from 2017. This needs to be distributed to the referees and they need to be held accountable or at least made aware of the Mike Evans illegal/defense OPI paradigm that happens with enough regularity that it is affecting games.
The amount of Defensive Holding and Illegal Contact he has to endure by Press CBs is pretty absurd. No calls. Virtually ever. My guess is, he is defended illegally (and egregiously) somewhere around 7ish times a game...with maybe one flag for it coming every 2 games. Its really unreal. Its unreal that he doesn't/we don't get these calls (and the automatic 1st downs that come with them) and its unreal that he hasn't blown a gasket more like he did in the Saints game where Mount Evans erupted on Lattimore. I can't imagine how frustrating this must be fore him. He's constantly defended illegally, and the moment he gets physical in return to extricate himself from the illegal defense its OPI.
It reminds me of Shaq back in the early 2000s. The amount of defensive physicality he had to endure because of his size differential (which, by the way, is nowhere in any rulebook), yet he (often) isn't allowed to deploy that size differential offensively in return. But this is worse, because Shaq got away with tons of Offensive Fouls. Mike gets the hairy eyeball and a flag every time he extricates himself from illegal defense (which isn't called). Its to the point where you see him just playing very passively against Press Coverage. Its conditioned him to not be physical...to not manhandle these guys that he could. And its hurting our Offense.
If Michael Irvin had to play under these circumstances, the Cowboys very possibly may have never won a Superbowl and he wouldn't have a job at NFL Network and his name would have passed through NFL lore without a flicker of recognition.
