On a per games played basis or routes run he is 100% the alpha wr1 even at his age.

Of course he is.

Even at his age, he's the only WR on this team that DC's have to truly primarily game plan for.

Will definitely be attending his induction to Canton.

Yeah, only a football simpleton thinks Evans isn’t a WR1 - and that’s exactly what we’re dealing with here.

There isn’t a personnel guy, defensive coach, or offensive coach in the league that doesn’t think Evans is the Buccaneer’s number one.

Justin Jefferson only has 2 TD's this year (less than Evans).

Clearly not a WR1.

He also has as many 100-yard games as he does games with 11 yards or less.

Clearly not a WR1.

hey DH let's give you a chance to show how smart you are.

You said in another thread that you were excited about the idea that Bowles might stay because, being Mr Vegas and all, you'd make a bunch of money betting against him. Lmao.  Right after that you laid out your bets for the week.

why don't you bump them up and show us all how you did?

I can do it for you but thought I should give you the first chance.

:-)

So, three people respond to the post of actual statistical comparison of Evans. Hire making a fair point and the same point I made (per game=still a threat when healthy).

:-)

Hey I'm not trying to flame you or anything. I just think you underestimate Evans as the true wr1 who draws the double team, the high safety over the top, and the best coverage DB every game.

That's what makes players like Otton so frustrating... You have 4 really good WRs drawing attention and all Otton can do is hand the ball to the other team.

No no didnt take it that way and actually think you make a good point.  Thats why I mentioned the Falcons game.

He is just NOT a true #1 anymore in the sense that the Bucs are not goin to build a 2026 offense around him as a 33 year old, play on/play off receiver who is very likely to miss 4 or more games in the season.  Play to play, sure.  But even there he is often more a decoy these days. In that Falcons game, even as well as he was playing, the Bucs go to Egbuka and Godwin on both critical plays late.

Time always wins. Just ask LVD

And I really agree with you on Otton.  Our TE should be sweeping it up with all the receiver talent

If you watch the Falcons game as an example, because he played incredibly well.  The Falcons are repeatedly playing him man, often with the CB where we he was pre-snap, and without any shifting of the safety over the top.  Watch the Egbuka pass.  Evans is the decoy.  I think he has one of the two top CBs on him, but that is it.

So, yes he is drawing often a good CB, but no teams are not modifying their defense to account for the fact that he could take off at any moment and go deep, LIKE HE USED TO.  In fact, that is one thing the Bucs offense is MISSING so if he was a huge threat there still, we would run it.

Just offering a little realism. The guy is soon to be 33, back to back hamstring injuries.
