Here is what they said....Quarterback: Mike Glennon, TB (-8.2)As can be seen from the grade, this selection falls firmly in the “best of a bad bunch” category. The bottom line is: when he was protected well he played well, but when he was under pressure his play deteriorated to an unacceptable level. When kept clean he had a passer rating of 101.4 and we graded him a +8.0 but under duress those numbers dropped to 55.7 and -15.8. Worryingly for Tampa Bay fans, those numbers are remarkably similar to the ones Josh Freeman put up in 2012.
Let me be the first to say, Crown us.
Two schools of thought here on why he was so bad when pressure.1. He can't handle the pressure and crumbled.2. He was pressured because no one was open and he waiting for someone to flash.I tend to think the latter as his passer rating when he wasn't pressured was so good. I believe he saw a guy open and got rid of it quickly. When no one was open he held it and got sacked. Noted that there is a difference between being blitzed and pressured. He was actually better against the blitz than he was when pressured.
Let me say that an 8.2 grade is not good overall and probably puts him towards the bottom of the league if I had to guess.
No matter who the QB is in 2014, we need to upgrade the OL. It's not rocket science that a QB plays better when he's not under pressure. Adding OL talent and a competent coaching staff, plus a full offseason could do well for Glennon. But either way, we need a better OL.
I know he sucked against the Bills, but he played a tough as hell schedule. vs ARZ, at SEA, Carolina twice, SF, at NO
Manning graded at 43.3 and Phil Rivers at 26.5
So how about we get him some protection and see what we have after that?
Some more protection, a reliable speedy slot receiver and another option at TE who can catch the ball plus a full off-season with Tedford should help alot

And our stud RB, and our #2 WR back
Bucs need a better o-line and a better slot options. I argued the same when Freeman was the QB and I will do the same if Glennon or a rookie is the QB moving forward.

Thats just crazy enough to work
Also don't expect to see the five step drop offense with Tedford.
It sounds great to just surround Glennon with a bunch of great players who don't make mistakes, but it's really hard. Every team wants great players at every position, but in a sport with weighted draft picks and a salary cap, it's impossible. To be a good team, your QB has to be able to make plays when other players have breakdowns. There's just no way around it. Good teams are good because they make opposing QBs play bad. You have to be able to overcome that.
More to FRGs point the QB makes players better. I don't think that the GB wide out are really all that good without Rodgers, same for NOLAs guys. We can't back on the All About 5 mindset where if he isn't perfectly protected and has studs at every spot he throws to then he is crippled. If Glennon gets better it will be because he gets better as a QB. The scheme will help, having some more options will help but ulitmately he wil rise or fall on his own merits not external forces.
