If the season has demonstrated one thing, it's that Marcus Arroyo is in completely over his head when it comes to running the offense. The offense has shown it has the ability to score points and move the football (as seen in Pittsburgh and New Orleans), but it's often killed by slow starts and play-calling that does nothing to adjust for the glaring weakness on the team or compensate for what other teams are doing to them. That's on coaching. So, with the bye, why not bring someone in -- not as a new OC (it would be impossible to design a new scheme in 13 days), but as an "offensive assistant" who can either help design gameplans against opposing defenses or actually help call plays on game day. Of all the names out there, why not Mike Martz? He's worked with Lovie before, he's had some previous success as an OC, and he'd (at the least) be able to be a set of eyes in the meeting room with multiple years of NFL experience.Even if you don't like Martz -- or if he doesn't want the gig -- someone needs to come into the team who can help Arroyo, because there's way too much evidence on film now that coaching is letting this team down on the offensive side of the ball.
