Mike Evans believes dropped TD played role in Odell Beckham Jr.'s outbursts4:46 PM ET    Dec 22, 2015Rick Brown      ESPNOdell_Zpsds1Aac3E.pngTAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans understands what Odell Beckham Jr. of the New York Giants was going through on Sunday. Beckham was involved in several skirmishes with Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman, which prompted the NFL to suspend Beckham for one game. Beckham is appealing the suspension.Evans, who plays in the same division as Norman, said while the cornerback can get under a receiver's skin, Beckham likely was feeling more than that."He does [talk a lot]," Evans said Tuesday of Norman. "But I think Odell was upset about the touchdown he dropped. I would have gotten upset as well and it would have gotten in my head and I would have gone after him as well. I think that factored in, for the most part."On the Giants' first series, Beckham beat Norman and seemed on his way to a 52-yard touchdown against the undefeated Panthers. But Beckham dropped the throw.Evans has had his share of drops this season as well. He also has had his share of arguments with officials, often after one of his five offensive pass interference penalties."We haven't handled some situations as well as we need to," Bucs coach Lovie Smith said. "As a football player in general, it's bigger than you. It's a team sport and whenever you do something that's hurting your football team, it should get your attention. It should get the coach's attention. It's should get the teammates' attention, all of our attention. You go out there, each play you are trying to help your team win. Some of the things we're seeing nowadays aren't actually doing that."Evans, who leads the Buccaneers with 66 catches for 1,046 yards, said he knows he hasn't been as consistent this season and vows that will change.Still, the second-year receiver out of Texas A&M has done something only former NFL receiver Randy Moss accomplished -- have multiple 1,000-yard receiving seasons before the age of 23. Evans, 22, worked out with Moss during this past offseason."I know how to get open better now," Evans said of his time with Moss. "I have better fundamentals. Absolutely, he taught me things about the game that I can see from his perspective. He's one of the greatest to do it. I was always good working with Randy."
