I normally don't like to do mock drafts, but I wanted to take a shot at one. I think there is a realistic chance Licht trades down in the first round so I can mocking a trade with the Cowboys. The Buccaneers trade #15 to the Cowboys for #20 and #84.

at #20 the Buccaneers take CJ Allen | LB | Georgia
at #46 the Buccaneers take Gabe Jacas | EDGE | Illinois
at #77 the Buccaneers take Davison Igbinosun | CB | Ohio State
at #84 the Buccaneers take Caleb Banks | DT | Florida
at 116 the Buccaneers take Malachi Fields | WR | Notre Dame
at #155 the Buccaneers take Sam Roush | TE | Stanford
at #195 the Buccaneers take Anthony Lucas | EDGE | USC
at #229 the Buccaneers take T.J. Hall | CB | Iowa

I am reading mixed things about Sam Roush. Some mocks have him in this range, others have him in the high 70s to mid 80s. I think most of the other picks have a chance to be there and be good values for the Buccaneers.

What are your mocks? What are your criticisms about these potential picks? I am open to discussion. Under a week to go, folks.

Without being an expert on these players I'm not a fan of this draft style approach

1.) I don't mind trading back to take Allen in theory but he grades as a 2nd rounder for me... I know some mocks have him this early but I'm just not a fan

2.) going edge second round for a guy that is what, the 8th best edge? Is that moving the needle?

3.) don't know enough about the OSU corner but again I know he played on a stacked defense and we already have 3 corners. I prefer to take corners late that can also play ST.

4.)DT depth in the third is a good move I like it

5.) fields and Roush are a hard pass for me..this is where you take scrappy LBs from Indiana or Texas Tech or whatever.

My general approach

BPA for first 2 picks and if that means WR so be it.

2nd rounder almost certainly a LB

Third rounder front seven BPA

4-7 you take corners, LB, or a project wr

I'm really not interested in taking a project TE late. We have 3 JAG TEs we don't need a 4th.

I wouldn't mind taking Allar in the 5th or 6th.

I'd like the approach in the first to be "get a starter that could be a pro bowler". After that you go front seven BPA with a bias toward LB.
