This season has been supremely frustrating and at the beginning of the season very embarrassing but 2011 was a black stain in Buccaneer history.

No I'm not a schiano fan not going to lie but I remember 2011 quite distinctly to be honest with you. Imo this season has been worse from a talent record perspective. In 2011 that team quit and was bad still we didn't get close to the negative attention like we had this year. That 8-9 week stretch was painful to read and hear about. Just my opinion tho.
This season was worse. By the end of week 4 we were talking about the draft.

Can anyone name a positive from the playing field for 2011? I can't. This year, the biggest issue was injuries, but IMO a huge positive was the number of young players who have worked their way up the ladder and made a positive impact. That's how good TEAMS are borne, folks. We were definitely the worst team in the league at the end of 2011 but many expected to make the playoffs or at least be in the mix this year coming off a 7-9 season with acquiring two pro bowlers at our weakest area and then to have the season we had....pretty disappointing. I personally never believed in Freeman but I at least thought he would be at least his usual mediocre self.

This year the season was over in September after adding Revis and Goldson at the same time players who were figured to be mainstays (Freeman, Nicks and Bowers) are all essentially done as Bucs.

You answer your own question, we were a young contender for the playoffs in 2011 based on the start of the season & previous years showing.This year I for one wasn't expecting much more than 6 wins at best and thought all the talk of playoffs was delusional due to the end of last year & the overall lack of talent on the roster (remember a team is 53 players not a few highly paid name individuals).I was buying into the hype of 2011 and got nothing in return while I kind of expected this year..If you expect garbage and get garbage it's not nice but you are ready for it, if you expect greatness and get garbage you are disappointed.
