Rodgers was a JC guy right? How many of the Tedford guys who "didnit make it in the pros" never would've even gotten to the pros -- let alone as 1st round picks --- without Tedford and his offense? He was at CAL . . . not USCAlso, he is a run game guy too, right? should be big for Martin -- if Tedford is even the OCHow could Tedford be a step down for Glennon? Glennon had Sully and McNulty
One way or another, Lovie needs to keep his hands off the offense and let Tedford or whoever run it. Don't force a run first mentality on them either. Lovie lost his previous job because he didn't understand offense, hopefully this time around he'll realize that and allow someone who does to run things on that side of the ball.
We did this once with Chip Kelly. I'm not going to get excited until it's official. I sure hope it is though!

That is what im saying. How is making guys look so good in college that they get picked in round 1 bad ?
Older. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft05/columns/story?id=2039797 Again, nobody is saying it is a bad signing. BUt to completely feel at ease about this is not what I am doing. I will wait to see what this guy can do as a professional. We all went through Rutgers already, and that idiot kicks out decent professionals.
@PatYazESPNHearing that Rod Marinelli, not Leslie Frazier, will be Lovie Smith's DC.
you can say what you want about Tedford. But he had a lot of quarterbacks that were very successful under him as a coach.Makes me think he looks at the players he has and builds to their strengths and doesnt force his style on a player that might not suit his traits. This would explain the success all of the 1st round qbs in the college game.I dont know if this is the case but it seems logical with all the examples getting thrown around
How about Chud as OC?
Tedford runs a complicated scheme, so anyone who works with him better have their football IQ up to snuff.
Which begs the question of whether Tedford's latest prize pupil, California quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the likely choice of the San Francisco 49ers with the top overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft, will be more productive than the five that preceded him into the league. That quintet – Trent Dilfer (Tampa Bay, 1994), Akili Smith (Cincinnati, 1999), David Carr (Houston, 2002), Joey Harrington (Detroit, 2002) and Kyle Boller (Baltimore, 2003) – has pretty much flopped both aggregately and individually.Their collective record as starters is just 98-127, only a 43.6 winning percentage. The group has combined for a completion percentage of 54.6, thrown more interceptions (230) than touchdown passes (202), and posted an anemic passer (in)efficiency rating of 68.6. Dilfer has earned the only Pro Bowl appearance so far among them and owns the lone title, having shepherded the Ravens to a Super Bowl XXXV victory. Apparently, Dilfer's lone season with the Ravens defined the right place and right time. He was caretaker of a no-frills offense that basically just had to stay out of the way of one of the NFL's most dominating defensive units of all time. Some people feel that Trent Reznor, the front man for Nine Inch Nails, could have presided just as adroitly over the rudimentary offense. [/]

If you want K2 back, sure...

Talked to a few Cal fans and they say its conservative though. I'm anxious to see what'll happen with the QB situation now.

Still awesome. Ideally we'd get all three on the staff.

Half the field conservative?I know this guy used to be a technician. Maybe he has refined his methods?I dig his offensive pedigree, regarding collegiate athletes. But after that, he is a complete enigma. Period.

Why in the world would we want that tool near our team? He is an illusion. And apparently a jerk to boot.
