4 years is pretty typical for a pro coach.
Okay now to see who he brings in as OC and DC. We've heard rumors of Leslie Fraizer and Tedford. I would prefer someone else at DC though.
Steve White's twitter feed right now lol
Yup, I agree with him...
Interesting hire. Seems like the Glazers are trying to recapture the past. Lovie only made the playoffs once in his last six seasons in Chicago.
There's always a debbie downer in the crowd. But, before we spew out random facts maybe you should look at what caused that? So how did Lovie, with what is universally considered a massive talent deficit, continue to field a team that was constantly competing for the playoffs throughout his ENTIRE tenure? Let's look at some of the player development first, 4th round throwaway pick Henry Melton who seemingly played everything at Texas but DT, develops into one of the 3 premier 4-3 interior pass rushers, and perhaps the best run stopping 4-3 DT. Danieal Manning leaves the Bears on $36M deal as a safety, Chris Harris became one of the best SS in the game, was traded, then comes back and is selected as an all pro FS. Charles Tillman quietly produces 80+ takeaways over a 10 year career. Let's look at some of the decline, Major Wright goes from a borderline probowler to PFFs worst safety in the league. Conte goes from solid starter to the PFFs 3rd worst safety. For crying out loud the defense went for #3 in scoring defense and #5 in total defense, to a bottom 3 unit in both categories, and a historically bad run defense in the pass first NFL of today. And Smith is just mediocre? 2, just 2 losing seasons (7-9) in the 8 years following Smith's first year without players that fit his scheme and the clown car of QBs.
Bowers excited. And takes a DIG at Schiano:“@DaQuanBowers91: “@Morsecodehoe: @DaQuanBowers91 how you feel about Lovie ?” I'm excited to play for a coach who can bring my potential out and COACH me”
I sure as heck hope Lovie learned his lesson from Chicago about needing a modern offense to win these days in the NFL. His offenses in Chicago were horrible! A little nervous about this, but I will take the leap of faith and hope for the best.

Sources: Bucs To Hire Lovie SmithAdam Schefter with the latest on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reaching an agreement with Lovie Smith to become their next head coach.Lovie Smith has reached an agreement to become the next head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sources told ESPN.The former Chicago Bears coach will replace the ousted Greg Schiano on a four-year deal, according to sources. There is a fifth-year option for Smith at the team's control, a source said.Smith met with the Glazier family Tuesday and was offered the job, according to sources. Talks for a contract extended until Wednesday when a deal was reached in the evening.Terms of the contract weren't known, but sources said Smith is expected to make in excess of $5 million a year.According to multiple sources, Smith will bring in former Cal coach Jeff Tedford to be his offensive coordinator. The Detroit Lions were also interested in Smith, but he preferred the Bucs job. He has previous ties to the organization having served as an assistant under Tony Dungy.Dungy, now an NFL analyst for NBC, took to Twitter to laud the hire.In addition to Schiano, the Bucs also fired general manager Mark Dominik on Monday. With no general manager, Smith will have control of his coaching staff and a huge voice in personnel.Schiano was 11-21 in two seasons as the Buccaneers' coach and had three years remaining on his contract, which he signed in 2012.The Buccaneers, who entered the 2013 season with high expectations, stumbled to an 0-8 start before finishing 4-12.Smith has ties to the Buccaneers as he was linebackers coach when Tony Dungy took over as head coach of the team in 1996.Schiano was also embroiled in controversy involving former quarterback Josh Freeman, who was cut by the Buccaneers in October shortly after he was benched.Freeman was compelled to acknowledge his presence in the NFL's substance-abuse program due to a prescription for Adderall after the information was leaked to the media. Schiano vehemently denied he was the source of the leak, however.Information from ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter and ESPN.com's John Clayton and Pat Yasinskas contributed to this report.

i posted fraziers bio in a thread today. As a DC he was damn good. Top 6 defense two years in a row. Top 10 all 3 years. Was usually one of the best run defenses and had the 2nd most sacks in the league during that time frame. Has extensive experience as a DB coach. The guy is solid.

I'm sure Schiano didn't tell Bowers to tackle the QB and don't be a lazy ass.
