It would seem that the number font is the least popular aspect of the jersey.... By far.

When the Bucs changed their last jerseys, in the 90s, I was 6 or 7, living in Virginia, surrounded by Redskins fans, with a brother and dad who loved the Eagles, and cheering on Jerry Rice and Steve Young. I had no local team to cheer for and no ties, and decided to become a Bucs fan because I loved the new jerseys and loved the pirate ship. (childish reasons I know, but I was a child... and those things ARE awesome) I became a Bucs fan BECAUSE of those jerseys, and I am sure Nike/Bucs are hoping the new ones they released today will do the same sort of thing for younger generation.I don't really like these new jerseys, I actually hoped it was a joke too. Helmets I'm fine with, I like them. Pants, I like. The minimalism of them works. But the tops are silly looking to me too. Numbers, blech. Shoulder pad pewter, not a fan, and seems to clash being so close to the helmet.Still, I want to know for all you dedicated older/distinguished fans, what was your reaction to last jersey change? Creamsicle to pewter? Was it the same kind of reaction (AHHH WTH WERE THEY THINKING??) or was the fact they were much better than the creamsicle made them awesome.
Ron makes a great point. All of us 'old schoolers' may or may not like the change - but it definitely is targeting at a new generation of Buc fans.

I don't totally loathe it, but the numbers are not good, and honestly think it's a step-down from the old ones. And I did like the helmet change. Still would like to see more angles before being definitive. Vin, ManU not a good comp for tons of reasons.
Oh, I agree there are many differences and I noted the caveat on success and I understand that ManU brand and Bucs brand value incredibly different, but then again so are Buc and Manu fans. ManU message boards were loaded with hate on any change to the unis . . . . it still worked. My only point was that the starting point for humans is resistance to change and that purists are the most strident. That said, I agree the two teams are very different
Well the biggest thing is that ManU - and every EPL team - changes their uniform annually. There's no reason to revolt when a rescue is potentially 12 months away. And usually they have 3 choices, at least one of which is tolerable. Also, "authentics" are significantly cheaper than NFL authentics.

Well, there are two colors I've never been fond of: orange and red, so when the uniform change happened, I wasn't a huge fan. They grew on me over the years.That's why I'm hanging onto my final judgment on this change, even if my initial impressions are lackluster.I love the pewter, I hate the orange and the font.
If they can transfer the design/scheme in a decent fashion to a new jersey - I am going to get some of that action.
Not a fan of the jersey or helmet, but may be they will grow on me. Either way, I don't care that much.
