Jameis Winston, QB, Florida StateGrade Given on Draft Night: ACurrent Pick Grade: A-Tyler Morales: Winston is doing about what we all expected him to do. He has led an average Bucs team to three victories and has shown flashes of the franchise QB we all think he will be. He has had some turnover issues but not as many as one would of thought. He has great command of this offense and already is showing to be the team leader of that offense. This was the right pick by Tampa Bay and in no time Winston should prove that.Surprise Gem: Kwon Alexander, OLB, LSUGrade Given on Draft Night: A-Nobody expected Alexander to come in and make the impact that he is making on the defense. Alexander has two interceptions, seven pass deflections, and 29 tackles. Alongside Lavonte David these two should form quite the duo for years to come. B+ for Kwon Alexander.
Marcus Mariota, QB, OregonGrade Given on Draft Night: ACurrent Pick Grade: AErik Lambert: Everybody knew that he was coming in with huge expectations but at the same time was taking over a bad team that finished 2-14 the year before. Still, Marcus Mariota has taken everything in stride and performed far beyond reasonable expectations. To have nine touchdown passes and just five interceptions despite the poor protection he’s had is rather impressive and a great sign of things to come. He will need more from his running game for sure, but once that happens this kid should live up to his draft billingSurprise Gem: Jalston Fowler, FB, AlabamaGrade Given on Draft Night: AFullbacks don’t get nearly the love they used to in the NFL but there are still some out there who show that the position still has value. Tennessee felt strongly enough about that to take Jalston Fowler in the 4th round, and he’s rewarded them.
