I just saw the face mask in the end zone for a safety last night near the end of a tight game. How in the Hell did that officiating crew not call that? They claim after the game that no official had a clear view of it. Both officials on the end line R3 and the old white guy further down the line had CRYSTAL CLEAR views of Darnold being tackled by his FACE MASK. So sick of referees influencing the outcome of games. R3 should never referee another game in the NFL. The old white guy should be sent packing as well. BTW, no ageism here, I'm 69 years old LOL.
I saw the highlight only and it looks like one of the refs is right there, so I get where you're coming from.
I don't understand how a facemask isn't reviewable. There is nothing subjective about the call.
I've seen refs get together and throw a late flag. But one of them had to see something, and I guess nobody did. If you allow refs to review plays to look for missed penalties because coaches or fans are yelling then they'd have to review every play.
I guess you could let coaches use their challenge, but even then the coaches who hadn't used their challenge could randomly throw it in the 4th quarter hoping to catch a break and with the way some penalties are borderline they probably would find something. That wouldn't be good.
It honestly was no more egregious than the non call against us versus the Falcons when Bucky was TACKLED down by his facemask late in the 4th quarter.
we had the lead, and that would of iced the game. The Vikings were way behind and it’s debatable whether they would of come back or not.

I'm not a fan of either team, I couldn't give a hoot which team won. But the NFL needs to get this shit right. The other problem with the play is that it was a scoring play which are all reviewable. But the penalty is not reviewable. The play was made because the tackle was all by face mask. The NFL needs to figure out how to get these kinds of calls right. Don't tell me those two refs didn't see it, they both had a clear view from the video angles I saw. Just plain inexcusable.

easy to say how does the ref miss that in super slow mo though. Not easy full speed.
the other issue is how often the rules change. Some of the coaches don’t even know them.
or they are subjective. What’s the saying holding can be called every play? Just if it’s blatant it gets called.
