yeah it was time to move on from McDermott.
here is the opposite take:
“This shit here is so stupid honestly sickening,” [Jordan] Phillips wrote. “The best coach I’ve ever been around.”
Phillips included a graphic that showed the Bills have a 106-58 record in McDermott’s nine years as head coach, and that the Bills had the fifth-most points scored and third-fewest points allowed in the NFL during that time."
i mean players will do what players do
McDermott was trash. You had the best QB by a mile this playoff season and you didnt make it out of the 2nd round
Grant it, QB was shit with 4 TOs but you live and die by your QB. Allen masked alot of the poor roster with his talents. Harbaugh is on line 2 in terms of living and dying by his QB.
McVay is pretty damn amazing. Might take some in-game decisions back but to keep on wining while shedding good coaches because you are winning ... hats off to him.
He's one bad throw away from being sent home.
Fire, do you think the Bears should've gone for two? Johnson said he thought about it.
Did you hear the reasons he gave for not going for two? Their in-game failings in short yardage and goal to go. So, lack of confidence based on the way things had been going that game.

did McDermott have control over the draft?
"the Bills have drafted 56 players since acquiring quarterback Josh Allen in 2018. Only two of them (running back James Cook and tight end Dawson Knox) have made it to the Pro Bowl."

I think being home you take the PAT. That plus the weather and their struggles.
They scored on a miracle so it's not like it was clocking and they had momentum.
Bills doing a pretty large shakeup
Pegula also confirmed General Manager Brandon Beane will lead the search for a new head coach and announced that Beane now has the title of president of football operations as well. It adds up to a major change in how the Bills will be doing business and more word about the direction they plan to go should be coming soon.

a layup path to the Superbowl and you dont even make it to the conference championship game
I mean... Layup going to the #1 seed on the road and losing last second on three controversial calls isn't what I would call a layup.
We saw how inconsistent the NFL has been with this whole "catch" shit... Cooks vs Adams for example. Same deal. Either way, Bills shot themselves in the foot but also go hosed.
Trust me I know. The bills are essentially the same as my Ducks.
Patriots and Broncos just had the easiest schedules, i think #1 and #3 all time in the Superbowl era
Bo Nix is mediocre - same numbers as Bryce Young, CJ stroud trash, Justin Herbert - trash in playoffs, Aaron Rodgers washed, Drake Maye having a good year but still inexperienced guy, and Trevor Lawrence is a top 20 QB before his last 5 games of the year.
This was the Bills year and definitely a lay up when compared to the previous years when Mahomes, Lamar, and Burrow (to an extent) were in the mix.
I'm not saying Allen/Bills didn't have a great opportunity but the Broncos are the one seed for a reason. You can shit on Bo Nix all you like but he was clutch time and time again. He's in that Caleb Williams category where he throws some awful throws then some absolute times and he comes up clutch.
Bills didn't have home field. They didn't have a bye...
But ultimately Allen needed to have a super hero game for them to win and he didn't...
I still think they got hosed on that Cooks catch and that's game if they rule it correclty.

same thought from me but I saw some discussion that they should've gone for 2.

I wouldn't fault going for two but too many variables against them plus the home field advantage. Had the bears gotten 15 more yards they could have kicked to win.

Johnson has done a great job and the QB is pretty amazing but they have to get better than his crazy last second throws

It was that type of season for them..they basically did all year what we did early for 6 games
That's a great way to describe it. Not really sustainable but I am sure Johnson will get it sorted
Johnson is quick to fix issues. He walked into that Bears job and on day one identified the need to fix the OL and then upgrade the weapons on offense which were pretty good to begin with.

Look no further than the person who should've been our HC this past season.
Jacksonville with a trending upward trajectory.
