Enjoy watching Caleb Williams prove the doubters wrong.
He played well in the clutch, I'll give him that.
Still not completely sold.
That being said, his athleticism is elite.
An actual player highlights why the playoffs ALWAYS matter even if you get there as an 8-9 team:
“We want the message to be, man, this is the standard now,” Brown said, via the team’s website. “We want to play playoff football here. We want the Bank to be sold out every weekend, and you know we got to give them a show if that’s what we want.”
His coach said the same thing, of course.
"Canales said he thinks players who haven’t played in the playoffs before have benefited this week from the veteran players who have been to the playoffs talking about simultaneously recognizing it’s a big game and not going overboard.
“It is special, and it’s important that we recognize that, we lean into it and we feed off that energy,” Canales said.
The Bucs are on the outside looking in for the first time in 6 years?
always rooting for Bucs to make playoffs
but the team hasn’t looked good since October 12th against the 49ers which was the last winning team they beat
i mean they went 3-8 since to then, including 3-4 against teams with losing records
the saints win was a good defensive performance but offense looked like shit, we barely hung on against the cardinals and panthers
And I know we are talking hypothetical but the panthers looked like the better team and don’t think Bucs would have had nearly as positive a showing representing the nfc south. Not just Todd Bowles hate but for the fact that we haven’t resembling a good team in over 3 months
may would have hoped that a playoff miss would have led to a new head coach given I don’t think many survive such a collapse. But they also, rightfully so, knew the Bucs would get crushed in their first round match up. Like man, they weren’t going to flick a switch all of a sudden
Its not that they don't care, but they care more about their reputation in the business world as opposed to the fans. They aren't willing to admit their mistake of extending Bowles contract a short seven months ago. It's not the money, which is peanuts compared to player contracts and has no impact on the cap. But if they fired Bowles they would be saying by their actions that they didn't know what they were doing. They crapped the bed. Maybe they don't want to admit that to their freinds and business associates in their world, or maybe they don't want to admit it to themselves. It just goes to show what a big difference coaching can make.
Yep.
Bucs are a perfect example.
Bowles incompetence bailed out by 2 good coaches for a few years, then absolutely exposed when he went the "puppet" route.
98% of the fan base can see it. Glazers simply don't care.
Next year could get ugly, but I'll reserve judgement on that until we see what the coaching staff looks like. I have my doubts that they'll be able to get a quality OC, but I could be wrong who knows we'll find out soon enough.

They don’t need to say it.
Everyone already knows.
Pretty funny the Microsoft commercial they're Bucs talent evaluators looking at LB.
WHY YOU GIVING OUR DRAFT STRATEGY AWAY, BILL?!?!
While it was horrible execution on Trevor's part, I love the call going for it there.
Again, more examples of our former coaches showing more balls in their 1st playoff games, than our gutless dope HC has his entire career.

the Bowles angst is so bad that DH is still posting about him in this thread lol. My point was that that angst (some might say animus) had posters like DH (his alter ego Biggs, I think) trying to tear down any success by saying silly things like playoffs don't matter. The Panthers BACKED INTO the playoffs. If we had done that these boards with have exploded lmao.
Imagine the optics of that!
Trevor shitting the bed.
There are guys wide open and he's simply missing them.
After all that...
...he missed it.

Staying aggressive even pinned with no time out and inside your 5 at the end of the half. Ended up with a good fg attempt.
Aggressiveness pays

Rough half of football for the QB
Aggressiveness pays
Both approaches pay and do not pay
Panthers got to playoffs in part by Canales going for it on 4th more than most.
they lost in the playoff by 3
they gave the Rams at least 3 to start the game by failing in a 4th down attempt.
I prefer aggressive too
Trevor keeps throwing the ball high?? I realize he is probably nervous but, man, this looks like last year’s Trevor.

He’s been late often too.
Good thrown the TD, though.
Josh Allen has been phenomenal today. Dude is carrying his team.
