Someone tell me who this Offensive Coordinator really is. We've not seen one game yet by him. Do you think he will really change the game from the previous OC?
Very different. There’s been a number of players speak out about the changes. White was one example:
”Lim [Coen] does a great job of mixing up different looks, and he does a great job of just throwing the defense off a lot,” White said. “Obviously, marriaging in a lot of our runs with our pass and play actions and stuff like that, but I mean this offense is hard, though”
Mayfield too
”QB Baker Mayfield says new offense is “mentally taxing” but is beneficial in the long-run because it will present issues for defenses with motions and shifts”
Canales wasnt really an “X and o” coordinator as much as he was just a damn good coach and thankfully a coach that was willing to change some things when they were not working, like Godwin outside.
Has baker ever had the same OC for 2 straight years?
maybe in college? Crazy.

2020-2021 with Alex Van Pelt. Though to be fair, Baker got hurt either Week 3 or 4 of the 2021 season (second year with Stefanski/Van Pelt) and though he played a couple more games at a relatively high level (PR avg over 100 through the first 5-6 games), he got injured again two more times and by Week 8 he probably should not have tried to play out the season, considering what it ultimately cost him, and the team.
Other than that, he's never had the same OC/HC for more than a single season. Also consider that one of his OCs was Freddie Kitchens (formerly had only risen to OL/TE coach), who was so bad at his job that Kurt Warner actually called him out multiple times in 2019 (Warner never calls out OCs), as did JT O'Sullivan, and then he had Rhule, who turned out to be . . . bad at his job as well.
In fact, if one just looks at seasons when Baker was both healthy and had decent coaching, he's performed fairly well, better than average. Conversely, every season that Baker's had bad coaching he performed poorly.
^^^great post^^^
Interesting details I wasn't aware of.
Coen is going to use a lot of 11 personnel or three WR sets and will mix up run or pass on any down and distance. Coen isn't going to run a lot of I formation up the gut on the early downs. And the use of motion and shift will feature a lot more for the slot WR, RB and TE. Bucs have Godwin, Otton and White. White proved to be the second coming of Forte as a weapon out of the backfield while Godwin is godly in the slot. And Otton showed an extra gear working horizonal stuff in the playoffs which is Coen's bread and butter for his TEs to attack zones with.

Yep. That's assuming he takes the McVay approach to play calling.
On 1st downs, the Rams were in 11P more than anyone in the league...by a pretty big margin (82% of the time).
Should see lots of motion and lots of the McVay Shallow Route concepts like meshes and crossers from condensed/stacked formations. Also should see stacks, bunches, and other means to give our playmakers free releases.
Probably a safe bet to see a more balanced run/pass ratio with way more zone concepts than gap vs. last year (which still puzzles me, as we ran a lot of zone in preseason and went away from it).
Kinda fits with what Rachaad White said they had seen of the offensive roll-out so far.
Heavy run attack.
