OG Competition VS OL Cohesiveness

Lovie has said multiple times that they are looking at different combinations with the OG spot. Daniels/Omameh/Edwards/Cousins/Meredith. Sometimes at LG, sometimes at RG. While we all know finding a good combination of players (or in our case, the shiniest turd) is very important, it is also very important to give these guys time to jell. Good OLs know eachother and what each person is going to do. The question is - when should Lovie and company declare the competition over so these guys can jell? My thought would be after preseason game 2 so they can get extended time in preseason game 3 together. I just don't want this to turn into something that drags in to the season with constantly changing guards.
