So, FitzMagic came down to earth...

but Winston didn't do much better.

After looking over some statistics, I actually don't think the QB is the problem. Either Fitz or Winston are fine.

The huge problems are elsewhere.

Thr first is the Offensive Line.

Tampa is 27th in league in QB hits at 29. They are also LAST in the league in rushing yards per carry (3.1). This shows the OL is just not doing it's job. (Yes, the rushing stats are also the fault of the RBs, but the OL is also partly to blame.)

(It's a bit surprising, given these QB hits, that the Bucs don't have many sacks. They only have nine sacks, which is 16th in the league. This is probably because Fitzpatrick has such a quick release and scrambling ability.)

So, OL is problem #1.

D is problem #2.

TB is second last in the league in yards allowed per game (445.8). Only KC is worse at 475 yards per game. We're also DEAD LAST in points allowed per game: 34.8

If the OL is not getting holes for the RBs and there is no running game, and if the QB is getting pressured all the time, even if you have great WR, QB and TEs, you're going to have problems.

And giving up 35 points per game ALWAYS puts the O in a "long pass" situation. Opposing Ds know this. Since there is no running game, all the opposing D needs to do is shut down long passes. When you think about it, it's kind of almost a miracle that Fitz threw for 400 yards for three games in a row.

It's not a surprise that the TB Offense finally had problems this week.

So many problems...
