The only regular season game the Bucs have ever played in August and it was the first competitive game in the new uniform colours. Trent Dilfer’s one-yard touchdown pass to Dave Moore was the only touchdown but the Bucs were dominant for much of the game with the defense sending both Jerry Rice and Steve Young to the sidelines as the youthful Tampa squad continued the promise shown at the end of the previous season.
