Are the Bills. The moment they dismantled a ferocious defense when firing Jim Shwartz for Rex Ryan. I still don't understand why they made that move from a coach who produced an elite defense to basically another defensive minded coach who was going to break it all up and try to emulate the same results? To me it's the dumbest coaching change of all time...not to mention that Rex is a buffoon. I know I'm making this thread after the Bills beat New England but it was without Brady and Gronk.
But who here thinks Koetter is not that special and we can bring in Shwartz who truly is a special defensive mind. The Eagles defense went from a joke to shutting down the Steelers. But to me its that 2014 Bills defense that truly sticks out, and I remember how much I wish we had that here... it was a wrecking crew.
Yes there is a chance it wouldn't work so well. But what the heck...
I swear if we go one more year without loading up on defensive ends I'm going to lose it. We need Ayers, Spence, Smith, plus 3 more DE's... no matter the cost we need to sign/draft the best available DE's. Once we have a strong DE unit and a guy like Shwartz, we could be on the same path as the Vikings. We should have signed Mario Williams and also drafted another DE instead of Aguayo. And why was Jaq Smith covering a punt again? And why did we rush Robert Ayers back only a couple days after hurting his ankle in practice?
This franchise is right there with the Bills and the Browns.
