Interesting to see how the outside world sees the Bucs and, in particular the win against the Eagles

FIVE THINGS EXPLORED:
1) Buccaneers cruise by sticking to identity.
"Baker Mayfield let it rip all over the field all night, racking up 337 yards and three touchdowns, Rachaad White ran hard, and Todd Bowles' defense was remarkably relentless, blitzing Jalen Hurts and the Eagles at a rate of 53.8%. They won with aggression and toughness on both sides of the ball, dominating the game by going out and taking it from the reeling defending NFC champs."
2) Eagles need to retake Tackling 101
3) Change ahead in Philadelphia?
4) Bucs need to get their hands right
"but what stood out more than anything was Tampa Bay's inconsistency with catching on-target passes. Bucs receivers dropped nearly a half-dozen such throws in the first half alone, and had they caught just a few of those, they might have owned a lead as large as 24-3 at that point. "
5) Baker Mayfield adds playoff win to excellent season
"Mayfield has found a perfect partner in Tampa Bay, and the Buccaneers have him to thank for their advancement to the Divisional Round. He's the unquestioned leader of a team that no one expected to be here, and earned the right to play another January game with even more importance"
Blankenship being out was a huge factor, maddox was playing like hot garbage, while blankenship plays much more physical and smarter, i was wondering where there white db #32 was, as hes a heady player for sure and would have made cades night tougher
Kancey just destroying the Eagles o-line

Great slow mo video of him beating blocks right at the snap
sapp-like
Absolutely how you beat a mobile qb like Hurts, push the pocket force him to stay in the pocket by having the ends play contain, and force the throw from there. On the safety Hurts DROPPED BACK 16 YARDS because he kept drifting due to the ends playing contain and kancey push. You can see the discomfort of him staying in that pocket and he so eagerly was looking for rushing lanes to escape the pocket. When you push the pocket and play contain the qb now has to find the on time throw but with mobile qbs they become so accustomed from delivering outside the pocket off timing so by keeping it pushed and discipline on the contain he has to driftback making it a further and harder throw. Goff Purdy I would have natural rushes with a mix of pushing the pocket as they throw with timing, you know they get it out quick but mobile qbs they get greedy and hold extra to extend the play so they try to escape

Mentioning Goff, the one thing I don't want to see are the safety/cb combo blitzes Bowles loves to utilize.
Too slow to develop. Rarely gets home. Quick release guys like that chew it up.
McVay calls the plays for the Rams
Andy Reid figured out in the SB that the way the beat Goff was to wait until the last few seconds and change the look of the D
Goff couldn't figure it out
That's why McVay traded him for Stafford
Goff has trouble with pressure and can be had just like Thanksgiving Day

Cool story.
Remind us again which Super Bowl did Reid coach against Goff?
NFL Live was split 2-2 on the game.
Around the Horn was 3-1 Eagles.
PTI both Tony and Mike picked the Eagles.
Fast forward to today. and not much credit being doled out to the Bucs, but rather heavy criticism about the Eagles, their game plan, their coaching, and players lack of effort. Marcus Spears said last years Eagles at this time of year would have beat the Bucs by 50 points. I hope the Bucs earn some respect in Motor City on Sunday.

While it's unfortunate, it was to be expected.
That, and talking about the Kelce retirement.

Here’s a gal that knows her football.
Detroit media
”
The next opponent for the Detroit Lions in the 2023 NFL Playoffs will be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the four seed this year in the NFC. The Buccaneers are coming off a convincing victory against the Philadelphia Eagles, knocking off the reigning and defending NFC Champions from a year ago.
After winning their third consecutive NFC South title, Tampa Bay proved their team was much more than just the product of Tom Brady picking Florida on his way to retirement. Baker Mayfield helped the Bucs defy the low expectations set for them this season—their preseason O/U was set at 6.5 wins—and a defense that stayed steady, posting the 14th-best team defense DVOA (14th against the pass, 8th against the run).”
