When: Noon Sunday. Where: Raymond James Stadium. TV: Fox. Radio: AM-620.Series: Packers lead, 31-21-1. Line: Packers by 12. Weather: Partly cloudy, 75. Surface: Grass.Coaches: Green Bay's Mike McCarthy (98-54-1, .644) vs. Tampa Bay's Lovie Smith (86-78, .524).FIVE THINGS TO WATCHOUT OF NOWHERE: Linebacker Danny Lansanah, a rookie free agent from Connecticut, made the Packers in 2008 and played five games on special teams (66 snaps). He was cut at the end of '09 training camp. From then until December 2013, Lansanah wasn't in the NFL but did play three seasons in the UFL. This year, he started Games 4-10 on the strong side, Games 11-12 on the weak side and Games 13-14 in the middle. His play (74 tackles, three interceptions, seven passes defensed) has been a bright spot in a dreary season. "Sure, I remember him here," Packers tight ends coach Jerry Fontenot said. "He looks good. Playing solid. He doesn't appear to be out of position very much. There's no glaring flaws. Looks like he's moving around pretty good for 250 pounds. He flies around. He plays with a lot of energy." Lansanah, 29, returned two of his picks for TDs. "He's a legit player," said another assistant coach. "He's going to be a bona fide heck of a linebacker. Big legs. Athletic."GOING ALL OUT: The Buccaneers rank 25th in yards and points allowed. However, they have played much better in the last eight games than the first six and still are trying their best. "They hustle their (expletive) off," said James Campen, the Packers' offensive line coach. "You can tell they're doing what they're told. They're going to work you. That's a trademark of the guy that's running things down there: Coach Lovie (Smith)." An assistant coach for a recent Bucs opponent agreed. "I thought their effort was pretty good," he said. "That shows up on film sometimes, especially in the kicking game. You'll see guys take plays off on extra-point rushes and stuff like that. I thought they played pretty dang hard." Tampa Bay doesn't play like a 2-12 team. "That's the one thing that stands out to me — they play hard, they play very hard," quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt said. "To me, it looks like a young Coach Lovie defense. They look like the earlier Bears. Very disciplined."LITTLE BIG MAN: Running back Doug Martin stands just 5 feet 9 inches but packs 215 pounds and likes running inside. "Very powerful," safeties coach Darren Perry said. "Low center of gravity, so he's tough to get underneath. He's a complete back." Martin had a tremendous first season (2012) but lost out to Redskins QB Robert Griffin III for offensive rookie of the year honors. After missing 10 games with a shoulder injury last season, Martin sat out five games this year. He has been back for a month and is at full speed. "He's a shorter guy with a thick lower (body)," defensive line coach Mike Trgovac said. "He does a good job of hiding behind the offensive linemen. He's a physical runner as well. They've got a nice mix of backs and have a diverse scheme. They do some inside plays, some toss plays, some gap schemes. You've got to prepare for a lot."AT THE POINT: Martin can be expected to run straight up the middle just as the Bills did a week ago. The success of his inside runs will depend largely on how well the Packers' front three handle double-team blocks. Letroy Guion has been the team's best at taking on doubles, followed by Mike Daniels and then Josh Boyd, according to Trgovac. "Letroy's obviously the biggest guy, and he's used to it," said Trgovac. "He knows how to take 'em on. Experience helps. I haven't seen any signs of him declining. He just had a good game against what I thought was a good player (Bills center Eric Wood). Mike's a good charger into that gap. The goal is to beat the tackle in there before he can come down on you. Josh is a quick-twitch guy. I think he's still learning. We're constantly talking to him about trying to take his game to another level. Defensive line is a hard position to learn, and it happens fast. We're not the B.J.s (Raji), the Johnnys (Jolly), the Picks (Ryan Pickett) anymore where we're big, huge guys. But I don't think double-teams have been a huge problem for us."ON GUARD: The Bucs will be a challenge on special teams for the Packers, who are coming off a bad outing in Buffalo. Tampa Bay's units are coordinated by Kevin O'Dea, who served as Dave Toub's assistant for four years in Chicago and last year in Kansas City. "They're really solid," said a special-teams coach for a Bucs opponent this season. "(O'Dea) was with Toub, so you're getting a lot of the same stuff from there. (Russell) Shepard is their best guy, by far. He's a really good special-teams guy. There's really not a lot of weak points. They're very solid as a cover team....The young guy (K Patrick Murray) has done a pretty good job....(Michael) Koenen also kicks off. Just OK. He'll probably give you a few chances. Because he's also punting, as the game goes on it seems like you get chances to return. In Atlanta, he used to be a guy you had absolutely zero chance of ever getting a (punt) return. He just kicked it high and out there near the sideline. Now he's flattened out a little bit. He drives the ball a little bit more. You'll have some opportunities there."Bob McGinnVIEWS OF THE GAMEBOB McGINNPackers beat reporterIf the game were played in 90-degree weather with high humidity, the chances for a shocker would increase. Instead, the forecast is calling for temperatures in the mid-70s, which shouldn't be a problem for the team from the north. No excuses for Green Bay. Just beat a 2-12 team.TOM SILVERSTEINPackers beat reporterLast week was the Packers' wake-up call. They can't go into a game relying on their passing game to come around while ignoring the ability of running back Eddie Lacy. The Buffalo loss should be a lesson that one-dimensional offenses are OK, but if that dimension is playing poorly it's OK to try something else. Lacy will have a big day Sunday.Packers 42, Buccaneers 20TYLER DUNNEPackers beat reporterLovie Smith has familiarity with the Packers and with Aaron Rodgers. But he doesn't have the horses, especially now that Gerald McCoy is on injured reserve. Green Bay's offense gets a needed tuneup for a Week 17 showdown against Detroit.Packers 34, Buccaneers 17LORI NICKELPackers beat reporterTampa Bay is one of the most penalized teams in the NFL with 111 penalties — and now the Bucs don't have their best defensive lineman and two of their receivers. No contest, right? Of all the two-win teams in the NFL (Tennessee, Oakland), the Bucs really could use a No. 1 draft pick — but they'll still probably give Green Bay their best, so it may be closer than expected — even if Packers fans will fill the place.Packers 31, Tampa Bay 21RICK KLAUERPacker Plus editorThree of the four Packers losses have come against some of the NFL's top defenses: Seahawks (1st), Lions (2nd) and Bills (5th). The Buccaneers are ranked 25th, and their offense is 30th. Packers roll in this one.Packers 37, Buccaneers 17
