I have no idea how any non-Gator would see a QB controversy?
1. Baker is a journeyman who isn't the long term answer and he has an expiring contract.
2. Whether you think he should have been the pick or not, Bucs invested a 2nd round pick in Trask.
3. Baker does some nice things but if we're being honest he has good WRs and is getting get good tackle play. Almost everyone would be doing the samething, if not better.
This is where you kind of depart from reality. You mean there is sort of an academic controversy about who should play given the two QBs different trajectory. Thats an interesting academic discussion (I guess) but you should be able to at least acknowledge that there is now way there is a controversy under the actual circumstances today?
In other words, there isn't a single coach or front office person or. . most importantly . . a PLAYER . . even suggesting that Trask should replace the veteran, Mayfield, against the Colts, right?
The "controversy" is something you conjure because the current QB is not "the long term answer" and the Bucs "invested a 2nd round pick in Trask."
Just because they aren't saying it publicly doesn't mean it isn't being talked about.
hahaha
"its true because I say its true and unless and until you disprove it"
The entire summer there were daily reports of Baker vs Trask. 3 months later the Bucs are 4-6 with a bottom third offense and we're just going to pretend Trask isn't on the team.

Baker had a rough 2022 season. He was traded in late summer to Carolina. I’m sure we can all agree, not given alot of time there to learn system, equipped to succeed. Traded to Rams, won 2 games. Actually looked serviceable.
given a chance with full offseason this year and will likely have his best statistical season in his career. As of today, he will likely be resigned. However, I’d like to see how rest of season plays out. Losses to teams of our caliber and that may quickly change
trask was a second round pick….in 2021
Most NFL players last about 3 years in this league. He is on year 3. Would not be surprised if he was out of NFL after Bucs contract expires. They invited a second in him, but whether good pick or not, the GM and coach know what they have and would not lose their jobs over him.
Anyone would play as good as Baker? Hell. Would argue last year Brady had better weapons at his disposal and he isn’t playing as good
So Baker gets to be benched by two different teams but you already have Trask out of the league before he starts a game. Do you not understand how stupid that logic is?
about as stupid as suggestign. there is a real QB controversy based on a hypothetical belief that "anyone would play as good as Mayfield?"
Kidding, but I mean you stating as fact there is a controversy is as absurd as saying Trask ( a QB) will be out of the league next year because most NFL players have 3 year careers
This is the worst offense the Bucs have had since 2014 and it's being driven by a bust journeyman QB and we're all supposed to have our heads buried in the sand?
No, you're supposed to understand that there is a difference between the real world and your world as you pretend to be a GM.
because you post like your academic thoughts are real facts . . . all the time . . maybe youre trying to show people (I guess) that you are the real GM you once falsely claimed to be?
not sure about that last part
This is the worst offense the Bucs have had since 2014
Last year’s offense says hi.
This is the worst offense the Bucs have had since 2014
Last year’s offense says hi.
They were still 15th in yards
how many points per game for each team?
I think 2023 is probably 20ish? Last year weren't we down to like 18?
I know you are desperate for human contact, but these questions don't need to be asked. You're allowed to use Google on your own.
Hell, there may even be a coach somewhere who can give you this basic information.
You're allowed to use Google on your own.
Like you did on "literally?"
oh wait that was AFTER you outed yourself
Like you did on Rand Paul?
oh wait . . that was also after
(look em up yourself . . . maybe before you call people dumb!)

just out of curiosity, if Trask started the year, what do you think the Bucs record would be?
and your answer cant be "we dont know, we haven't seen him play in a game sans Falcons last year"

preseason reports about practice and a "neck and neck" QB competition? Thats what you're relying on?
and no one is pretending anything except you. You are pretending there is a controversy that has the players asking for Trask
3 months later the Bucs are 4-6 with a bottom third offense
If you attribute that all to the QB that pus you in quite a group lol
Some with "football acumen" might see a bad line, terrible TE blocking, no running game. penalties, dropped passes and even a terrible defense

Wirfs and Goedeke are playing well, so overall the line isn't bad. It's actually strong at the two most important positions, but weak inside. Someone could pull up what it's graded overall.
And how is the defense "terrible" when the Bucs are 9th in points allowed?
Week 1 - Vikings - defense played well, but Baker made some clutch plays to win that game. That’s a game we likely lose otherwise
week 2 - bears - again, defense played well. So did Baker. We likely could have won this one with a replacement QB
week 3 - eagles - they are the superior team. We lose this game no matter who you have unless we somehow had a top 10 QB
week 4 - saints - baker played well as did defense. Got to give baker some credit here
week 6 - lions - again superior team
week 7 - falcons - baker stunk. His fault. Turnovers made game closer than it was. we got punched in mouth despite 3 point difference. defense let us down in final drive
week 8 - buffalo - superior team
week 9 - texans - defense let us down
week 10 - titans - defense played well, we likely win this with replacement QB
week 11 - niners - superior team.
so Baker has us at 4-6. we should be 6-4 but just one loss was his fault so 5-5.
i have us at 2-8 with back-up in there. lets assume Trask but dont count out Wolford. Wed lose all the games we would have lost anyway plus saints and vikings.

And, some "who don't spend their time posting elementary coach speak and interjecting lame political quips" might see a QB that has a difficult time processing reads, not being able to see over an O-Line, not recognizing progressions beyond the first read, and one who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat as it pertains to the deep ball.
Then again, the prior are the same dipshits who gave Lovie Leftwhich a pass on everything, and still do.
So, there's that.

When you have to make stuff up (Leftwich a pass) you’ve basically surrendered.
I’ve told you this before Buggsy
