The Offense in general: Seems to be able to move the ball but sputters in the red zone. I think the red zone woes is a result of not trying to look for matchups and instead trying to force feed to players. That is an easy fix for Koetter and Winston.
Run blocking has been uneven this pre seasons but it shows when you are missing some starters. Evan Smith is only on the team because Benonch and Wester are not ready yet. Even Hawley may make the team because of that reason. Josh Allen is somebody that might sneak onto the roster afterall. Liedtke to practice squad.
Godwin is quietly flying under the radar but he is showcasing his skills as a pro and I like it a lot!
Barber is making a clear case that he should see a lot of playing time, because he knows what he needs to do. McNichols made several rookie mistakes so he probably makes the roster then is cut and added to PS. Hansbrough, like Barber have been hanging around because they know what they are doing.
Anger once again was the MVP and Folk was actually a competent NFL field goal kicker. A+ to both of them.
Defense...where do I start lol?
Starting D-line, backups...it doesn't matter no heat translates to no money in the bank at the end of the year as a playoff team.
The 4th pre season game is a make or break game for several backup Dlinemen on this team.
At LB, Glanton has been the most consistent at SAM and MIKE and is probably making a strong case for more playing time with starters or outright taking a spot at SAM.
Beckwith made some rookie mistakes, but he has a tendency to be lost in the wash which is odd for a player of his size and also has a hard time stacking and shedding.
Hargreaves wasn't perfect but he actually shows why he is ascending though in this game, because he is one of the few players on defense that gave a damn out there to make a play. L. David receives and honorable mention as well along with McDonald.
Justin Evans: Whether it is fair or not that is how NFL refs call the game and that is how it will be for the rest of his career so he has to adjust as this isn't college.
Chris Conte has looked the best at safety which is good news in one respect. But bad news in another as the Bucs will have to look to 2018 for more competition at safety spot and IF Tandy is re-signed. At least Wilcox looks ready to go if need by this year.
