Link: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/pete-prisco/25285796/preseason-musings-why-the-quality-of-o-line-play-in-the-nfl-is-putrid I've talked with a lot of my family fans and everyone says that their teams offensive line play is horrible, so Pete's thoughts on this might be somewhat valid. IMO, our line play is putrid because we are starting two rookies and while they may be better down the road, they clearly aren't there now. I also am of the opinion that there really isn't better options available because good offensive linemen just don't get cut or make it to free agency. If a team is willing to let a young offensive lineman go, there's usually a very good reason. So if we want a good line, we pretty much have to grow our own and keep those players around.I do often wonder if Warhop is a good coach, but the article above does make me wonder if it's just that he doesn't have enough time - which could explain why Gilkey is still around. If Boselli is correct, new offensive linemen, even the premium picks are getting half of the reps that they really need, so it's no surprise why they are struggling. Prisco also makes a really strong point about the last 18 offensive line players drafted. If only 1 has been to the pro-bowl that does tend to support that those players are not getting the coaching necessary at the college level that they used to get or are getting the wrong coaching.I don't know what the answer is, but apparently Tampa isn't the only team in the NFL that's having this issue.
