Winston played bad, 2 INTs blatantly his fault, 2 dropped INTs his fault. He had 1 fumble. 3 fumbles total for the team.

I also looked at first down play action and runs. In my mind, FAR too predictable running on 1st down (goes back to Leftwich with ARI).

Bucs had 25 1st down plays (not counting last 2 minutes). They ran the ball 17 times, play-actioned 8 times (2 goal-to-go), dropped back 1.

On 36 attempts they play-actioned 11x.

Winston has lots of time but pocket collapsing, tries to step up and throw a WR coming back to the ball but a duck comes out and lands in Alexander’s hands.

Immediately after Kwon’s ejection. Playaction, Winston pats the ball 3 times and is stripped sacked. Ball was hanging low and easy to knock loose – defender didn’t get much hand on it to knock it free. Winston had 4 seconds in the pocket before he was hit. Marpet and Auclair double team their LE, he eventually beats it for the late sack.

This is the hold on Dotson. Maybe blocking downfield on a pass? No hold here.

49ers 3-0 11:51 2nd
Howard fumble. 100% Howard. Unacceptable place to fumble.

49ers 3-0 8:46 2nd
VH3’s pick. VH3 did everything right, squatted and reacted to a throw in what looked like C2. Horrible throw by Garrapolo – almost the same throw on Winston’s pick 6. RB running a curl against the teams no. 1 corner.

Bucs 7-6 2:55 2nd
1st drop back on 1st down. 100% Howard again. You’d like to see a bit better ball placement from Winston, but still a very catchable ball.

49ers 12-7 12:31 3rd
Fumbled snap. Hard to tell who was at fault.

Next play (bad plays compound): pick-6 to Sherman. Sherman plays off, not worrying about Barber. But on the #2 WR incut and reading Winston, breaks on Barber’s route at the 7 yard mark (stem point). Sherman is coming forward before Barber is even out of his cut. Barber drifts to about 8 yards, Sherman reads the ball and picks it.

The thing is, I don’t see the “Barber ran 3 yards too deep” argument. Arians obviously is correct, but then Winston must adjust his throw to Barber’s depth (and overthrows Barber). Because if Barber is running to a target depth of ~5 yards, this ball is WAY overthrown. Sherman catches it at about 11 yards beyond the LOS.

49ers 20 -7 11:38 3rd
Barber fumbles, obviously 100% on him. Barber lacked ANY juice in this game.

49ers 20-7 8:55 3rd
Just a bizarre play. Officials blow it dead because they weren’t in position (even though the refs step off the ball when they’re set). Then they allow the play?

This officiating crew was ABYSMAL. Not even for anti-Bucs calls, they were just terrible. Embarrassing that this was considered an NFL crew.

49ers 20-14 14:54 4th
Playaction, Winston gets illegal grounding. Winston had a ton of time (max protect) and its stupid to take this penalty. Blatant and unquestionable grounding.

At the same time, on the broadcast it appears that it was a 2 man route on 1st and goal. Both routes are covered with no other options. Based on the broadcast, looks like terrible play design here.

49ers 20-14 13:07 4th
You can see Godwin is already open here and Winston should see it.

Godwin1

Here’s about where Godwin should sit. He actually kind of does (he’s already geared down) but drifts a bit.

Godwin2

But Winston throws the ball WAY too late (and inside). He stares it down but waits until he SEES Godwin is wide open. He also fails to see the safety. Pick 6 dropped by the 49ers.

49ers 23-17 2:09 4th
Pick 6. Nothing to say, its just abysmal. It was snuffed out by the 49ers. Yes, Dare did a poor job in positioning.

But Winston just ails a desperation pass. Remember – its 1st down! Grossly unacceptable for a veteran QB.

49ers 31-17 1:01 4th
Games over, but I have no idea how this pass to Evans isn’t pass interference. Embarrassing.
