Raheem Morris finds home in Atlanta

(Photo by Streeter Lecka/Getty Images) By Ira Kaufman | Tribune Staff Published: October 28, 2015 at 09:44 PMTAMPA — Once Dan Quinn arrived in Atlanta, Raheem Morris wasn’t far behind.Quinn replaced Mike Smith as head coach of the Falcons in February and promptly reached out to Morris, who coached the Bucs for three seasons beginning in 2009 and spent the past three years coaching the Redskins secondary.Quinn gave Morris a lofty title — assistant head coach/defensive passing game — and the Falcons (6-1) are off to a hot start heading into Sunday’s matchup against Tampa Bay at the Georgia Dome.“We have a long history together,’’ Quinn said Wednesday on a conference call. “I coached at Hofstra when Raheem was playing there and when we hired him as defensive backs coach. We grew up not far from each other in New Jersey.“I knew if I ever had the opportunity to lead a team and there would be any chance he could do it with me, I’d want to take that opportunity.
