Did you even watch a game that Greg Schiano coached?
He was in over his head. He will land somewhere, as a NFL coordinator maybe. His BFF Belickick would take him in, if nothing else materializes. Or a college program could offer him a HC job. If that is what he wants to do.
I agree with the premise of this thread. We've got young guys like McCoy who are going on their 3rd coach already, that's a sign of a poorly run franchise. Most of our fans act like spoiled brats, they cry and whine if everything doesn't go exactly how they want 100 percent of the time. It appears the Glazers continue to let that factor into their decision making, and where has that gotten us? Exactly. Continuity can go a long way, unfortunately the Glazers aren't aware of that.
Escobar a Schiano apologist? Get out of town! I wonder if continuity was important to Escobar when Raheem Morris went 4-12? You're so utterly transparent it's laughable.
IMO, the Glazers jumped the gun on this one. The last two drafts are definitely in the top five in franchise history. The defense is just a player or two away from being back in the top ten. They were among the best in the league at takeaways this year, and led the league in run defense after being the worst in 2011. Any coach that can get the ninth ranked offense with a reluctant Josh Freeman at QB, deserves more than he got here. It's a real shame Schiano won't get the chance to correct the offense with a healthy roster and a second year QB. So now the Glazers will bring in some reject from another program who will have no clue who is worth keeping. I'm not mad and I'm not bailing on the team, but I am sad. The two people most responsible for the really great talent on this roster are gone. The plan they had is out the window, and the new GM and HC will take a year or two to figure out what they have here. The Bucs will lose some of that talent in the process. For some, the solution is simple. All we need to do is sign a HC who is superior to the other three HCs in the division, and then draft a QB who is better than Drew Brees, Fig Newton, and Matt Ryan. Good luck with that, and the time it's going to take for the new guys to learn about the division. Good luck with that.I hope the new guys turn things around right away. I just don't see it as realistic. When you blow things up, it takes awhile to get everyone on the same page.I detest Josh Freeman. He crapped in the punchbowl on purpose IMO.
They could not sell this clusterfukk to the fanbase anymore....bottom line.
Continuous Schiano is akin to Continuous Anal Leakage. It ain't good, but it has continuity.Schiano should never have been the coach, and that became more apparent with every passing week. He sucked, and I wish him no harm, but he needed to get the hell outta there! He ruined the Bucs.

This wasn't a rash decision at all. And if you watched the games this year I honestly can't see how in the high holy hell you couldn't see that Schiano was in over his head. This has been coming for a while.
Dude, new coaches have turned teams around in 1 year all the time. And how did you expect a Schiano led team to win the division when we are 4th in talent, 4th in coaching, and have the 4 the best QB. That plan wasn't working and never was going to.
That's harsh, but I can't argue with it. Maybe we have the third most talent?
The offense averaged 6 points in the second halves of games this year. Six points! And about 75 yards of offense I think. All the evidence needed to justify this.
Not sure how you watch this team week in and week out and then say this was a rash decision.
Come on.....it's his rash...let him wear it.
Bwahahahahaha @ the delusions of the OP
lol. "Delusions", is putting it lightly...
Greg Schiano is the key to the Bucs winning league championships. It will happen. He is notable for getting college players NFL ready. Now he actually has NFL players to start with. I believe he will become our Tom Landry, Don Shula, or Bill Walsh. We've never had a HC that was HOF worthy whose career started and ended with the Bucs. All I can say is thank you Chip Kelly.
Yes, thanks Chip Kelly....
Schiano has everything any HC would need to win at any level. He only lacks experience in the NFL but he has surrounded himself with people who do. He has the leadership skills to make it work. He fielded the highest scoring offense in franchise history in his first year as HC. He and Freeman will improve on that in 2013. 2012 will be the last losing season the Bucs will have with Schiano running the team. Schiano will be our Shula or Landry. It took the Steelers 40 years to win respect and a league title, and that was in a much smaller league. The Bucs have finally struck gold at HC.
Gold!...I tell ya!
This thread is a joke right? Please explain how Schiano staying would've prevented season ticket holders from leaving in droves

Shocking, you attempt to bring race into it again. Liberals, always good for a chuckle. The key difference is that Raheem's squad gave up on him completely and proceeded to get blown out each week. It's why I've said several times it's no small detail that in such an up and down season Schiano had our guys playing hard each and every game. That's the absolute last thing you could say about our team under Raheem during his final season. But if you'd like to ignore that key detail, and instead resort to focusing on race have at it. You think I'm a racist because you want me to be a racist, that's how liberals work. Want to bitch about something? Just make that something up. Literally every single problem in America can be traced right back to liberals, you're a flawless example of that.

Instant gratification is what this is about. Nobody wanted to give an inexperienced guy time to learn. He had flaws, obviously, but there were clear signs he was working on them and attempting to be a better coach. You get better with experience, but experience is the last thing some of our fans wanted him to gain because they wanted to be "right" about him. I have no doubt many of our fans were terrified at the thought of him coaching next season, not because they were afraid he'd fail, they were afraid he'd succeed. When you have a guy who seemingly has the respect of his players, has his guys playing hard even through a rough season, and shows he's trying to improve in some of his weaker areas...you should give that guy time. Had we been getting blown out each week like we were under Raheem, that would be another story. I just hope the next guy works out, we're most likely going to have a slew of new assistants, a new QB, and possibly a new offense and defensive system. That's multiple prime years of some of our better players down the drain if the change doesn't work out.

Funny - and here I thought that in most high end professions in the real world if you aren't showing results after two years you are typically fired. Or demoted. Oh wait....

So every coach that struggles at the start of their career will always struggle and never get better? Cool. I'll jot that down.
