Herm Edwards was talking about Revis on First Take. He pointed out that 70% of passes now are between the numbers. So you need CB's that will cover slot receivers and take away TE's. The outside passing game is going away. So with a guy like Revis playing the outside, teams will just put their 4th WR to his side and throw somewhere else. It's hard to justify 16M for that
He also said he thinks Revis can play all over the field, he just hasn't been asked to do so.
hahaha.... we know the Browns are stupid but THAT stupid?
+1It would be awesome no?
To have $25 mil + a year going to two CBs =retarded
If that happened, I would praise Licht as a God
I'm fine with mid-round picks if we're going to do this. I doubt anyone is going to give us 1st round picks for him because of the contract.

Try to follow along. When he was the Jets defensive coordinator he had Revis, Cromartie and they still drafted Kyle Wilson in the 1st round. His defense is driven by corners.
Haden I believe is a FA after this year. No way they could keep both. Very stupid move on their part if they do trade for him.
Wonder if Cleveland would do some form of Haden for Revis trade with other possible picks/players included. Haden would still be a top 5 corner for us and cost 4 mill a year less.
Haden is a better corner than Revis. I would trade Revis for Haden straight up with the understanding that we will sign him to a long term deal.
Just give us your 2nd 1st rounder Cleveland. And think of it as trading Richardson for Revis.Next!

Cleveland's problem...hahahahaha,

He's not going to renegotiate or he would do that here. You think someone would willingly renegotiate to go to the trash that is Cleveland. He's better off doing nothing, getting cut and then picking where he wants to go.
Doesn't the "trade him or release him" news actually benefit the Bucs in this situation? In negotiations with lesser teams. On the open market, the Browns would have no shot at Revis.
Didn't Shields just sign with Green Bay for 10M per year? If Sam is worth 10M, wouldn't healthy Revis be worth more? Say 2M more? If so, is the current contract that much out of reach especially with the cap expected to increase 12M next year and 15M the year after?I still don't see the need to trade OR release Revis, but his contract shouldn't be that big of an obstacle - not for getting a healthy Revis.JMO.
